Livro bem tedioso
O livro é muito parado e tedioso. Não há muito conteúdo na história, há muita enrolação. De todos os livros The Stud Club esse é o pior.

wow!
An excellent story of a man who basically survives a hell of a life and countless times death forgets to say goodbye. And then this hero finds his love. It’s not an easy journey but worth the time and challenges. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.

Book One was a hard act to follow!
Ms Dare had backed herself into a corner because book one in this series, was for me the near perfect historical romance. With that in mind, this the second book in the series had a lot to live up to...and fell slightly short of the mark.I liked how Ms Dare used a different setting (the tavern) but two things left me dissatisfied. The first was the Rhys saw Merry and pretty much fell in love with her on the spot, enough to become infatuated with marrying her - and the second was that Meredith set about seducing him, whilst he held off consummation until she'd agreed to marry him. It seemed implausible that a seasoned soldier would not sucumb to temptation when a seductress of Merry's metal set him in her sights. (Dont get me wrong, I'm not stereotyping soldiers - just seems odd that a man used to living for the moment, wouldnt seize take advantage!)That said, it was a satisfying read but what I have learnt is to not read Ms Dare's books back-to-back. I dare say if I'd read other, more average HR's in between this and book one, I'd have been much more impressed.

Not the best
I am a huge fan of Dare and I have nearly read all of her books. This is number 2 of a trilogy and I wasn't keen. I'm not sure if this is because the other two books are just superb though. I found this one difficult to get into and I had a hard time trying to imagine the two main characters but I'm not sure if this is because I didn't really like either of them all that much. I found it a little hard to beleive that he would just decide to marry her just like that. You could easily miss out this book and just read the other two and it wouldn't really effect the story.
