Q: When I wipe the board down with warm soapy water there is dark staining on the sponge. Why is this?

Never had this problem with mine. What are you cutting on the board, I know that after cutting/ chopping red chiles on the board, I will get a red stain on my cleaning cloth, as said never a dark stain, that is why I asked what you were cutting on it, as it is known that dyes from foods can get onto the boards, then the sponge or cloths would pick them up on cleaning the board. I certainly oil mine very often, possibly more than required and wax with a wax for chopping boards, natural food safe products at all times. Hope this helps in any way.

The wood is treated and no it is not one piece if you want a solid 1 piece of wood board expect to pay 3 to 4 times the price of this board. The board is fine if looked after properly, don’t put it in a dishwasher wash by hand.

Q: Where can i find the seasoning instructions of the chopping board?

You should try to season your chopping board regularly, depending on usage, once a month. First, make sure the board is clean by rubbing it with a warm damp cloth, but never submerge it in water or put it in the dishwasher as this will cause it to warp and ruin it. If there are any stubborn stains these can often be removed by rubbing the stain with a little lemon juice or vinegar, and salt, to act as an abrasive. Once clean take a clean cloth and rub a mineral grade food oil all over the board (NOT olive/vegetable oil as this will go rancid). Allow the oil to soak in overnight if possible. This will nourish the wood and enhance it's natural colours. If knife marks are starting to detract from the appearance of the board, these can be removed by lightly sanding the board with a fine grade sandpaper, before repeating the seasoning instructions.
