I moved into a new home 2 years ago, front yard was sodded and remainder of the lawn seeded. After 2 years of settling, my yard (even with a sprinkler system) was not as pristine as I desired, uneven when walking with several thin areas. In order to amend the poor soil quality of our area (clay), I decided to top dress the lawn this fall with a 70/30 mix of topsoil/compost, 1/4-1/2" deep. I ended up placing 8 yds of the mix over the yard after core aeration and then followed by fertilizer and heavy overseeding. This is where the Levelawn worked its magic. Although dreadfully overpriced, it is well made and did exactly what it is designed to do...spread the top dressing around and level the lawn. After gross spreading with the back of a garden rake, I then further spread the top dressing and flattened the lawn with the Levelawn. I will warn others in a similar situation with a new lawn that is uneven, it will inevitably lead to areas deeper than 1/2" top dressing as the Levelawn fills in the divots to level the lawn. I also found that the Levelawn worked great to work the seed into the soil after spreading the grass seed.Although top dressing an entire lawn with a manual tool is very labor intensive, the Levelawn did very well in this task and I would highly recommend it. Without a doubt, I was able to get a much better end product than simply using the backside of a garden rake for the entire project.

This is one of the best tools that I own!I bought it to help spread several yards of compost throughout my lawn. It made the job unbelievably easy and fast.The Standard Golf Levelawn is extremely well made in the USA with high quality materials finished to a high standard. It’s sturdy, easy to use and feels like it will last forever. There are plenty of cheap, poorly executed knockoffs out there that will probably disappoint you — Spend a little more on this tool and be happy!

Great product. Seems well made. Worked for a big lawn renovation. We will see how it holds up over the years.Way too expensive. Feel like it's this pricey because it's a specialty tool and there isn't a lot of competition. I think 50$ would be a fair price. These aren't even premium materials. No grip for the handle. Handle has a joint in the middle but can't fold. Whole tool can't collapse. These are the features I would expect for a yard tool that costs over $100.

I was very impressed with the sturdiness and quality of this leveling rake. It held up to several hours of use just fine. I was also pleasantly surprised with how well it pushed grass seed into a new lawn!When it arrived, I noticed the wood poles were a bit more curved than I would expect to see on a brand-new product. So, I reached out to their customer service and they promptly sent me replacements. This experience gives me great confidence in spending this much money on a tool like this.Thanks, Standard Golf!

I have a soil testing business and purchased this tool for leveling out the ground surface after holes are dug by a backhoe. I am very happy with my purchase and cannot believe how much better this works than any standard landscaping rake. It saves me alot of time with how quickly and easily I can level out an area. The extra long pole allows you to work an area without having to bend over, and it saves on back pain. I am very happy with my purchase of this product.Now I need to use it to even out some areas in my own lawn!

The media could not be loaded. Well built tool. No problem with the handle on delivery or application. The seven foot handle allows for great range. This is the first leveling rake I have used since my days working in a minor league groundscrew. It’s helped my personal lawn after a harsh, post-dethatching winter become rut free. One caveat, your earth material mixture needs to be fairly fine. If you buy cheap, clumpy top soil and or unsifted manure, your going to get some chunks. Otherwise, one of my favorite tools in the shed!

IMO this thing is pricey for what it is. However, all of the ones with good reviews are $100+ so it is what it is. Overall this tool is great. It has a nice weight to it and worked really well for leveling my yard. If you’re going to spend money and a boat load of time working on leveling your yard don’t go cheap on the main tool to do it.

This tool is for fine tuning a lawn that is in good to excellent condition. My lawn isn’t. My neighbor loaned me a landscaping rake, about 30” wide, tines/teeth on one side and a straight edge on the other. All aluminum. Stiff. Much more effective at moving fill around to fill low spots and taper out high spots. The lawn level tool would work if your lawn is near putting green quality, and you want it better. I don’t expect that the two piece wood handle will take much abuse. And this thing is expensive.
