I bought a Game Boy Color from a local game store. The original buttons didn't work and screen was very scratched. This kit was easy to install. It took 20 minutes with taking my time. The new buttons feel crisp and work great. The new screen is awesome. Overall very happy so far.

Everything fit properly. All the stuff that came with it was correct. Had no problems. Assembling it all in all good product. I recommend it for those who want to change the shell.

I would recommend these new shells to anyone. (Make sure you buy the ones labeled new) They both look and feel so premium. I love all the little touches on this shell. You can sees that thought and care went into the design with the customer in mind. For my build I just put the stock screen back in and everything went together with ease. No extra cutting to get it to fit together. No extra flashing. No surface blemishes. The Great Wave artwork is crisp and beautiful. Just a fantastic product. Plus if one day I decide to update to an IPS display all I need to do is break off the tabs and fit the display. I love what they did with the start and select buttons. They feel so tactile now. I think the only complaints I can even have for this is that the A&B button feel a little on the squishy side and that it doesn't come with all the stickers for the back (though I do like the custom sticker it does come with). Overall, I think this is the best Gameboy Color shell on the market and has set the bar high for any future shells I use.

The shell overall is awesome. Great feel in the hands it’s nice and solid. And look... too awesome! The reasons why I gave it 4 stars and not five are as follows: The replacement d-pad had too small of a “ball” (in the middle on the back of the d-pad) which caused almost a complete loss of directional function. I had my original to use which was just fine. There’s a small defect near the bottom right corner, and a stress mark on the power replacement button. (pics) The replacement sticker reads “made in China” instead of Japan. Luckily I already had two much more authentic stickers already in hand. Lastly the plastic replacement screen is nice but even my shirt seems to put micro scratches on it. Again not a worry because I prefer glass anyway and have some coming from China. (Hopefully not shattered). Overall I love this case! So stoked on this “new” gameboy.

This shell is awesome! I decided to mix and match button colors and ended up keeping the original select/start buttons for the rubbery feel. I used the HISPEEDIDO IPS Q5 OSD V4 screen mod. The only issue is the A button gets stuck if it press the bottom left corner of it and that happens to be when I naturally press it. I haven’t even opened it to address this issue because I’m having too much fun playing it right now and I plan to get a few more of the eXtremeRate Shells and I’ll take a look then. As you may notice from the picture, I forgot to cut the shell for the text lighting too. They could add perforation for that… I’d like to see more classic looking metallics available too. Gold specifically.Conclusion - Great Purchase!Edit - A button sticking solved. The new buttons have kind of a rough finish for grip. Very fine, almost rubbery. Not sure why the A button had a tendency to stick there and not anywhere else. Sanding/polishing the button sides fixed it. I used a new exacto to CAREFULLY scrape the sides, removing only a fine powder. It was almost nothing. It won’t now stick even if I try.

This shell is a wonderful replacement for an original shell. It's durable and sturdy, and I love the the tactile feel of the matte material. Finding that the screen cover was made of glass was a nice surprise (though maybe I didn't pay attention), and the fact that it's built specifically for accommodating aftermarket IPS screen kits made putting one in when I got it later all the more simple.My only criticism is that the screw holes are really, really hard to drive into the first time and I nearly stripped a couple screws in the process.

This has to be the best shell I’ve ever purchased for any type of game boy. The paint is a matte finish and looks fresh out of some thing Nintendo would actually make. If you are going to switch to backlight LCD screen, the shell already did the hard work for you by making it compatible. You can also change the buttons to your liking from red to black. As you can see, I chose to keep it original like the NES controller.

Ive had my gameboy for well over 20 years....so long I had lost the back and had to tape the batteries in. This makes my game boy look brand new!!

Good quality product with all the parts you need looks perfect.

It's an absolutely gorgeous looking shell, but the big problem is the paint just isn't durable. I've only had the shell for about 4 1/2 months, my GBC lives in a protective case, when not in use, but the paint is noticeably chipping off the two top front corners.Granted the base colour of the plastic shell is white, so it's not super noticable, but still leaves me a bit disappointed with this purchase.

Excelente calidad, no lo indica en el post original pero viene con toda la tornillería nueva, switches, botones y una pantalla, además incluye calcomanías aluminizadas, es todo el conjunto, 10/10

La carcasa es, como digo en el título, casi perfecta. La calidad de los materiales es excelente y el resultado montada es de calidad, no tiene nada que ver con las que venden en AliExpress.Lo malo que tiene son:- Los botones vienen presentados en una especie de esqueleto de plástico , están unidas a ese plástico, lo que hace que cuando las separes debas limar las piezas porque quedan pequeños resaltes, lo que hace que no encajen bien de primeras en la carcasa.- Los tornillos que vienen son malos, no encajan bien en sus respectivos agujeros, lo que hace que debas apretar bastante para ponerlos. Al final debido a la pésima calidad he rescatado tornillos originales de otra GB que tenía.Quitando estos aspectos, como ya he comentado, perfecta 🫡
