Terrible Cap, Not Worth It
After reading reviews about the difficult childproof cap and scouring the internet for the older non-childproof version to no avail, I ended up buying 2 of this bottle. The bottle itself is very very nice, but the childproof cap is utterly miserable. Even when you turn the cap clockwise to close the bottle it slips before fully tightening, so you have to apply downwards pressure both to close and to open it. It requires a lot of pressure and makes it difficult to create a confident seal.I ended up getting the MSR fuel bottle which has a much better childproof cap that tightens as much as you want without any downwards pressure, and then the opening action is smoother and more robust than the Primus cap. On top of that, if you still want a non-childproof cap for the MSR bottle, you can get the "MSR Fuel Bottle Cap - Expedition" from sources like SunnySports.com which gives you the simple no-fuss cap everyone wants with such a bottle. But again the MSR bottle even has a decent childproof cap.Hope this helps and sends you in a better direction than the Primus bottle. I am also being told I can't return it because of the shipping restriction listed on the product page. Very disappointing!

Almost amazing, poor experience in time of need drove me to write this 3 star review. (Owned less than 1 year.)
I've almost owned this for a year. It was useful for 2 to 3 times within the first few months while I was learning how to deal with a bike without a gas gauge and felt like it had no reserve. I was at the end of my tank last night while I was going to get gas and ran out of gas, first time in a few months. I took the canister out and noticed it felt light, sure enough the can was empty. After getting a friend to drive me to the gas station, fill it up, then back to my bike. All is still good with the tank still, however, the seal is degraded, leaked the gas that was in the tank. Looking further at the seal, it is normal rubber, which Ethanol can degrade. If I had the tank installed in an upright position, I may have never had this issue but I bet this seal will still wear out over time.Thoughts: The tank is awesome, although the plastic top is sun bleached. Utilize proper seal that can withstand sitting Ethanol. This tank, for the price, is still amazing.

Doesn't leak, hard to pour
I used this bottle as insurance on a recent motorcycle trip. It is easy to fill at the gas pump. It is a little difficult to get it filled to the correct amount though, unless you do the math and figure out the gallon equivalent of how much you should be putting in it. I had three of these bottles, so using a towel created a holder so each bottle had its own pocket. I never smelled gasoline on the towel and there was no other evidence that the bottles leaked. The only down side was that it is difficult to pour (especially on a windy day) without making a mess. Next trip I will have a silicone funnel which, I have already purchased, to help with the transfer.

Seems to work ok
We took our longest ride thus far - 1000 miles over 4 days on the motorcycle. I've had this tank for about a week. It's been hung upside down, shaken out on the ride day in and day out, and no leakage or problems thus far. I do see where some say the child-proof cap might become problematic. It's not proven to be bad yet, but it does seem like one of those lids that will be harder and harder to open the more you use it. So far though, I have no reason to complain. It holds fuel, doesn't leak, and I knew better than to open it when it was freshly shaken or hot, so no mess or pressure problems when I opened it up. I'll modify this if that changes, but I'd say it's well worth the money so far.

Good reliable container, so far.
The fuel bottle does exactly what it is designed to do. As others have stated the o-ring will get stuck if you do not apply some petroleum compatible lubricant. I wasn’t sure if the o-ring that comes with container was the correct type for gas, as it was starting to smell bad, so I ordered a set of Buna-nitrile o-rings and replaced it. The container has been working fine for a couple of weeks now with no leaks so I had no worries about ordering a second one. I use these as a backup reserve for my enduro motorcycles and they are affordable and reliable insurance.

Very faulty lid. Don't recommend.
I took a risk on this bottle. Bad choice. I know the simple concept of opening a childproof medicine bottle. I opened it once (with a lot of force) and I figured I could manage. I filled it up with gas to use it as backup for my 2.5 hp suzuki outboard on my kayak. I ran out of gas and I could NEVER open this bottle again. I had to paddle miles against the wind. Even at home, I couldn't open it. I am in my mid 30's and very capable, don't lack force nor skill to open this bottle but it seems it locked or sometging went wrong. I will pry it ipen with pliers to extract the liquid and throw it away. I short, great bottle but very faulty lid. Do not recommend.

Look cool!
These look great for carrying extra gasoline on my KLX250 Dual Sport that only has a 2 gallon gas tank. 2 combined will get me about .8 gallons, but I might go above the max fill line to get a bit more in.The warning on the bottle states, "To be used with Primus Powerfuel only!" Don't know what that is, but I plan to use them for ethanol free gasoline.I have no idea what the diagram is that they sent with each bottle, maybe it's a pump you can get?I'll be trying these out soon and will update.

Great fit in my Mosko bags.
Two of these fit in the 5l Aux Pox on my Mosko Backcountry panniers. Combined they hold 3l of fuel which adds an emergency 30 miles or so to my range as well as carrying fuel for my MSR WhisperLite International stove. Price is good and they are the only 1.5l bottles that will fit 2 up in the pocket. Only reason I deducted 1 star is for not making the threads compatible with the MSR stove pump. I still have to carry a small MSR bottle to run the stove. Still a great product overall.

Does its job, to a point
Noticed that if the cap rotates (clicks the child lock) tipped with fuel in the cap. It leaks. If you don't play with it, it works well. Used as a emergency gas supply for off road motorcycle. The 1.3l can be life saving if you end up out of gas in the bush. If it wasn't for the extra capacity I would stick with MSR. Much much better fuel bottles. I use the MSR with my cruiser, less capacity, but also closer to gas stations. Beggars can't be choosers.

Ideal fuel reserve container
The Primus 1.5-liter fuel bottle provides the perfect fuel reserve for multi-day hikes and treks. It is solidly built yet lightweight. The only thing negative about this bottle is its child-safe cap. It is a little picky and does not always open/close easily. I would much prefer to good old screw cap which was also child-safe if firmly tighten. Anyways I enjoy this Primus bottle a lot and do not fear to run of gas during my expeditions.

Why a child proof fuel bottle?
Could do without the child proof top.Fuel and other petroleum products should be properly stored and should not need a child proof lid.I will probably look for a different lid that also has an integrated pour hole like my MSR fuel bottle.

Good for the money
It does what its supposed to. I did not have any real issues with removing the safety cap...its not as easy as a simple screw in cover but wither having the safety cap is good or bad is prefrence. The oring in the cap ripped slightlty so maybe this was what caused some trouble for some. I simply replaced it with a generic ring from an assortment pack I had. The only reason this looses a star for me is the opening is narrow and difficult to fill without spilling however this is an issue with every other aluminum fuel bottle I have seen for more money.

Nice product - Crappy lid
I purchased 2 for long trips on my touring motorcycle. I purchased new lids through Amazon at https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08CN263D7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. These new caps fit perfectly and I've never had leaking in my saddle bags. I was sick of trying so hard and sometimes for hours trying to open the damn child proof lids. I went to a screw parts store to find spouts for them too. These are decent fuel bottles, but child proof lids and no spout is a little ridiculous. Charge the extra $10 and provide non child proof lids and an appropriate 8" spout. Thanks.
