Good movie to watch as a family

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is a good follow-up to the original. However, being a sequel, it is not as good as the first. My main complaint with the second installment is that it does not quite have the heart that the original one did. It has some, but not to the extent of the original. The first one had some very touching scenes when *Spoiler Alert*Flint's dad convinced him to shut down the machine and when Flint returns from destroying the machine.* End SpoilerThis one did not quite have the really touching scenes that the first one did. But, the heart in the movie not being quite as good are made up for with strong voice acting, particularly Will Forte, who has a great performance as the villain of the film, Chester V. With the exception of Terry Crews replacing Mr. T as the police officer, Earl, all of the rest of the cast returns from the original. Everyone does a fantastic job. The film also features some great music composed by Mark Mothersbaugh. The one way that this film does improve over the original is the absolutely eye-popping visuals. The first one also had some good visuals, but the animators did a great job creating a world of living food that looks amazing on screen. Overall, I give Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 four stars and an 8.5 out of 10 rating. While it does seem that it is intended for a slightly younger audience, there is still enough humor and great visuals so that it will appeal to everyone in the family. Overall, a very good family movie.

I mainly got this for the 3D disc., especially now that they stopped pressing 3D movies any longer. Want to collect as many as I can to go with my 3D collection, so far 108 3D Blu rays and still counting. Not as good and as many things flying out from the screen as there should be, while not bad I have better 3D movies with objects coming out of the screen. I like that the 3D and 2D are both on the same disc, makes it easy for viewing either version. I gave it 4 star on the sole reason they offered it in a 3D blu Ray disc version. Still glad I bought it.

Very rarely do sequels seem to hold a candle to the original - this was wonderful. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs really is a great movie and it is family friendly, though it does have a couple instances of mildly bad language.I enjoyed this enough that I'd have no issue watching it several times. It's cute and entertaining throughout and features all of the main characters from the first movie (minus the mayor) and brings in an assortment of new characters, including a bad guy scientist.Terry Crews voices Earl Devereaux for this movie instead of Mr. T, but he does a great job and the character keeps his personality and is equally enjoyable. I'm a fan of Mr. T and Terry Crews, so in my opinion Crews was the perfect replacement.This is a humorous movie and one of the better kid friendly movies I've seen. I recommend both Cloudy With a Chance of Meatball movies!

Not funny and a little to boring.We watched far better animated movies. This one isn't for us. Probably better for kids under 7 years.

Our family loved Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, and we still watch it constantly. This sequel's trailers did not do it justice, because we weren't so sure it would be as good as the first one. After we watched it, my son (the picky one) immediately asked to watch it again.For those who have seen the first movie, this is a good continuation of it. It stars Flint Lockwood, an aspiring inventor who is more of a Tim-the-Toolman-Taylor type where everything has always gone horribly wrong. His major invention in the first one, that turned water vapor into food, went awry and caused the residents of Swallow Falls to evacuate. This sequel begins after everyone has evacuated. Flint is still with Sam Sparks, the intern from the first feature, and they get the gang back together to return to Swallow Falls after being informed that "foodimals" have taken over the island. Flint goes on a quest to shut down his invention and keep foodimals from taking over the mainlands and the world.This one is extremely cute and original. We were worried it would be exactly like the first one, and it wasn't at all. It was its own movie, with a brand new plot and set of jokes. The characters all still make people love them. Definitely worth watching over and over again with the kids.

In this sequel the story picks up exactly where the first movie left off. They just stopped the flmdfsfr machine from dropping skyscraper size food. Thats how part 1 ended. However the flmsfsfr machine doesnt fully shut down properly and the government says everyone in swallow falls must leave their homes while the government cleans up their town to prevent further injury. But the government has other plans to use Flint Lockwood to search the now food infested jungle of Swallow falls to steal his invention the flmsfsfr machine. Before they had to deal with genetically mutated enlarged food. Now they are dealing with mutant living food. Do they eat or be eaten by the food to save Swallow falls? Again Flint needs to use a more powerful kill code to destroy the flmsfsfr machine. Or does he want to alow the mutant man eating food to live all the time? Find out when you order this great movie. Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2.My only concern is wearing it out because my kids watch this over and over again. Really great sequel to the first movie. The little strawberry guy is real adorable. Man eating taco is real clever. I recieved this dvd in exelent condition. Im so glad we now can enjoy this movie as a family. Definately worth viewing with kids.

Can your ideas change the world? Every time I hear this I get goosebumps hehe, to my daughter is just innocent cartoonish fun but to me it seems like an illuminati brainwashing kind of programming video. Conspiracist much?Well, I love the film we have the first one and its great fun, my favourite character must be Earl voiced by Mister T but on this one was voiced by Terry Crews it's just hilarious, I love the way they exaggerate their movements and expressions much like Hotel Transylvania characters also by Sony. Very original in my opinion, also it arrive on time and in good condition.

One twin says: Second all-time favourite movie (after Hotel Transylvania 2). All the foodanimals are really cute, especially the strawberries and marshmallows.The other twin adds: It's a really fantastic movie. I like #1 but especially #2 -- because of the strawberry and because there's a really crafty baddy. Lots of thrilling action too! Great team of friends. Mum especially loved the fishing pickles.

We may have expected too much from this sequel. Compared to other 3D films (Open Season, Despicable Me), it doesn't really make good use of the 3D. The story is OK and the food animal names brilliant... shrimp-panzies, Hip-potato-mas to name but two.Is not as good as the first film, but still rates 4 stars and is worth a look now the DVD/Blu-ray copies are cheaper. Dont bother paying for the 3D copy.

Well to be honest this review came from my two grandsons, the youngest (6) watched in 2D and said thanks grandad, well I guess that makes it a 5 star??? The eldest (11) said it was just as good as the first one and was even funnier. I can only go by what they tell me, I haven't watched all the way through myself yet. so watch this space.

A great film. My LO loved the first film we had to get this one as well. I think it is even better than the first. I love the jokes and the story is so important.
