The Football Player and the Chef Fall in Love
I absolutely loved Whole Lotta Love by Erika Kelly; it is an incredible love at first sight love story. It is the eighth book in her Calamity Falls series. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I was pleased that each book is a standalone and that I do not have to have read the other books in her series to enjoy Whole Lotta Love. Erika Kelly showed that she is an amazing storyteller. It was impossible to put Whole Lotta Love down and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Erika develops her characters in such a way that you fall in love with them and care about them much like a good friend. I love how Erika Kelly managed to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Whole Lotta Love is a second chance love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Whole Lotta Love is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Erika Kelly did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Whole Lotta Love is the story of Alexander “Xander” Wilder, professional football player for the Mavericks and Lulu Cavanaugh, chef. Lulu and Xander meet in Maui, where Xander is vacationing with some of the Maverick players. Lulu’s sister Gigi and her parents are also in Maui since Gigi’s fiancé also plays for the Mavericks. Lulu has recently been fired from her job and must inform her parents that this happened. Lulu returns to Calamity Falls with her family. Lulu is hoping to get her own cooking show, her dream is to find a new job in a Michelin starred restaurant. Lulu and Xander reunite in Calamity Falls where he is rehabbing his shoulder and seeking treatment at Fin Bowie’s Antigravity Training Center. The producer of the cooking show decides to make it a joint show with Lulu and Xander, where there would be cooking challenges with their guests. I love all the interactions that take place while filming the shows. Conversation between Lulu and Xander flows so easily, I love that both Lulu and Xander share secrets with one another that they have not shared with anyone before, especially the secrets Xander shares regarding his love of cooking and Lulu’s secrets about her past relationships. As Lulu and Xander spend time together filming the cooking show, things change between them, and they begin a romantic relationship. An unexpected plot twist causes Lulu to flee to Paris. I love the heart-to-heart conversations that take place in Whole Lotta Love, especially the ones that between Lulu and her mother, and Xander and Lulu’s father regarding career advice. I loved that Whole Lotta Love is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Lulu and Xander are facing that need to be resolved. I love how the storylines get so beautifully resolved. I love the changes that both Lulu and Xander make in their lives to have a life with one another. I love Xander’s proposal, the location of the proposal and the ending of the love story, how both Lulu and Xander change because of their love for one another. Whole Lotta Love is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Whole Lotta Love the characters feel like family and friends. I loved all the characters in Whole Lotta Love and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Whole Lotta Love, who does not love a love at first sight love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Good book
This was a good read. I loved Xander. He was so determined to win Lu. He made all the right moves. Lu on the other hand was a little reluctant to start any relationship. She has a major problem and needs to suck it up and get over herself. She also needs to lay her sister out and be done with it.Move on tell her how you feel and step past it.

Fun read..cooking and football
SpoilersThe H and h meet over tacos. She’s a chef working at a taco truck and hiding from her family after she was fired from a prestigious restaurant. She couldn’t handle the cooking and the business side of the restaurant. He is at the taco wagon with his teammates looking for tacos. He’s a backup quarterback and comes from a family of professional football players. The two find that they enjoy talking to each other and have much in common. The H doesn’t feel he measures up to his older brothers who have Super Bowl rings while he’s a backup quarterback. They also have successful marriages while he has the only divorce in the family. The h is always trying to live up to her mother’s high standards . The h’s dream is to be a chef at a five star restaurant. She lost her high school crush and her fiancé to her younger sister. She saw her sister in a lip lock with her crush and then years later caught her making out with her fiancé at their rehearsal dinner. The two find themselves co hosting a talk show/cooking reality show. Their chemistry is explosive on and off screen. The H knows that the h is for him and is willing to sacrifice his football career for her. They get their HEA after a lot of back and forth on career issues.Likes: enjoyed the cooking theme and the main characters. I especially liked the charismatic H. He was going all out on winning the h’s heart. Good banter and supporting cast.A 3.5 star recommend.

Xander & Lulu
I don't usually like sweet stories but I have to say that it did have some steam so I really enjoyed it. Xander and Lulu just fit together and compliment each other. Loved it.

A chef and a footballer’s love story
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the book is too short. I wanted to know more about Lulu and Xander’s new life.☺️I loved how the story started. I mean who doesn’t love a broody, handsome character? Probably that’s what drew Lulu to Xander too . He just makes you want to get know him and find out about his secrets. He noticed Lulu straight away too.It was refreshing for him that she didn’t throw herself at him ,started touching him like she owes him and that she was just being herself.Lulu has some self confidence issues after seeing her own sister making out with her first love and years later with her fiancé.That’s probably the main reason why she doesn’t believe “a guy like Xander” could love him.In a way, Xander is just the same.He always wanted to be like his brothers.Have an awesome career, perfect relationship/marriage.Soon he realises he can just be himself and people-especially his family - will accept and love him just the way he is.I absolutely loved their chemistry and connection. My eyes might have become watery as I was reading the epilogue 🙈

Loved it
Loved Xander and how he reacted to Lulu, he was the sort of bloke any girl would have been happy to have in her life. Lulu felt the same about him but I have to say she did get on my nerves near the end . Glad her sister and mum talked some sense about her reaction to Xander and his new job. Got to say it again Loved Xander

Okaysh
Struggled with lu as a character. Felt her insecurities were ever present and although so many gifts handed to her it was sabotage all the way. We never got a conclusion to the programme zander and Lu made. Was okay but not the best by this author.

Home Is Where the Heart Is
Well-paced with likeable characters, this is a sweet but smokin' hot read. Xander is the perfect BBF, but together with Lulu make a really special couple; fortunately, this book is not overly angsty, and after surmounting their challenges they finally find a home with each other.
