DON'T WORRY - absolutely NO squirrels, nor any other kind of wildlife was harmed in any way. Frustrated, perhaps ...... I've had this ongoing issue for some time that a particular pair of Grey Squirrels have been coming to my garden bird feeders, and gnawing their way through the weaker (usually plastic) elements of these food outlets, resulting in total failure, and all contents dropped on the ground (and then nommed up by said rodents).I've tried repairs with classic cable ties (nylon), and it's been literally a matter of days (or less) until the squirrels have destroyed the latest fix-up. THAT IS ...... UNTIL that I discovered, and ordered, these awesome Stainless Steel cable ties!So far, at least 3 months into my latest repairs, and the squirrels have more or less given up. They are great!One review (or was it a question answer?) claimed these are NOT "Stainless Steel" because they don't stick to magnets. That reviewer was ill-informed. The "300" series Stainless Steels are "Austenitic" and NEVER magnetic. The 316 allow these cable ties made from are also about as non-corrodable as possible amongst the family of stainless steels. These ties are, effective, Marine Grade.If you need something tying up permanently - including banning your local grey squirrels from nibblinf your nuts - this product is the Dog's B//x!

They work just like plastic cable ties but won’t degrade in the sun. Great idea.

I ordered these partly to see how they stood up in comparison with the common plastic Cable Ties and the conclusion is that I am impressed.They look like a quality product and in use the tie locks firmly as soon as it is pulled tight. Unlike nylon the spare end can then be turned 180 degrees to give a little extra security to the friction lock. If there was a way of improving them a loop of some sort to hold the end would be a plus. rather like a loop on a belt which holds the loose end. I have tried really hard to get a couple of test ones to open and have failed. The harder you pull the tighter they get. It is also a lot harder to cut off than the plastic ties and they totally resisted cutting with side cutters. Possibly something to bear in mind if using these where they may need to be removed easily.What their long term use is like compared with plastic in corrosive environments only time will tell but these definitely seem to be something worth having in stock.

I have not used these cable ties for any heat resistant jobs as such but they are very high quality and very sturdy.

I use these on the welded mesh of our chicken coop. They offer longterm durability over plastic ones and hold a larger load without keeping under pressure.They're long and heavy duty, not flimsy when we used them on the car bumper.They are more difficult to remove than plastic and better used as a more permanent solution rather than shorterm unless you have an adequate tool to remove them.
