The item is well made and pretty but looks cheap. So I guess you get what you pay for. The beads appear to be plastic and are most definitely not crystals or gemstones (pic attached)

Exactly what you think you are buying. I hang mine from my rearview mirror. A few times I needed a necklace out, and it was perfect.
