Personally I think the bread knife is too long.

Great, but Chinese not German made
Great knife, just what you need for slicing home made loaves in a bread slicer. 1 star off for Gripe: suggests German made, but the steel is made in Germany and transported to China and then even more carbon footprints to me in uk. Knife has Steinbruecke on blade, box does not state China although a little sticker has been added. Why hasn't Amazon got a symbol so that people that can afford it can go to non-Chinese manufactured goods? I would gladly pay half as much again. The only Japanese-manufactured knives are the samurai sword firm £££££. The only European I could find is made in France and then assembled in Portugal, but unfortunately, 8" blade is useless in a bread slicer as you need to saw back and forth quite a bit.

The bevel makes it slice at a big angle
This knife has German written all over it, but when you open it , it says "Made in China". It isnt as sharp as I was expecting either. Also, most annoyingly, it cuts strongly at an angle due the the one-sided bevel.
