Q: Are these the same as the ones here for $2.95?

Nah, the Lamy converters cost around $6 from Lamy, so anything that's suspiciously cheap is probably fake. The guys at the Lamy flagship store told me they've recently been getting a lot of customers calling Lamy and complaining their Lamy products from Amazon don't work. So it would seem there's a new supply of fake Lamy products. When in doubt, look at reviews. If it has lots of positive reviews, it probably works. But always look at the bad reviews to make sure they're not bot-spamming their own products with good reviews.

JBA, Sounds like you pen needs to be cleaned. Start with a 50-50 solution of Windex and H20 soak the section and try to fill. Then flush with H20 dry and fill with fresh ink. Bertram's Inkwell is here to help, just let us know.

I never had different converters, but rather different pens, so I did not have to think of the aspect of drying up fast. It would be a question of setting up the option that best meets your needs. I have four different pens for different color inks: black, sepia, red and green.
