Great Tool for Biblical Greek!
ἡ ὁδός - The Path to Learning Greek, by Michael Halcomb and Jordan Day, is a fun resource for anyone wanting to take their knowledge of Koine (Biblical) Greek further. As a former Greek teacher, I can testify that most students struggle to internalize the language and to begin "thinking in Greek." This book helps remedy that mental roadblock. It provides pictures (sometimes pretty goofy ones!) and captions for everyday life, body parts, food, and basic conversations. Each chapter has a Vocabulary list at the beginning, but then readers are left to figure out what the words mean, by actually reading the book (more like cartoons) themselves. It's intuitive, immersive, and a lot more enjoyable than simply trying to memorize vocabulary by rote. While this book can't stand on its own, it's a helpful resource, and a welcome addition to the growing movement to teach and learn Koine Greek in an immersive way, which leads to longer retention and actual internalization of the language.

It makes it so much more intuitive to learn Greek vocabulary! Hopefully the next edition can have higher-resolution graphics. But it's still a great resource!

Content very good but not a true kindle book
While the content very good, this is not a true "kindle" book. It looks like a pdf.

This is an amazing resource for learning Koine Greek. I also purchased the audio (from Glossahouse.com) which has really helped in learning the right pronunciation of the words.

a wonderful way to learn and internalize Ancient Greek!
A book such as this, which makes effective use of visual helps to internalize Ancient Greek, is long overdue. Such books are available to learners of modern languages, but until recently, Ancient Greek has been taught almost exclusively through the Grammar-Translation Method. Halcomb/Day have produced an innovative book which uses short, simple sentences, re-enforced by basic pictures, to cover much of the grammar and vocabulary needed to read Ancient Greek. Numbers, parts of the body, prepositions, basic greetings, all these are covered in a fun, natural setting which makes learning Greek a pleasure, as opposed to the drudgery of paradigms and complicated Greek sentences that have to be decoded. (All of the Greek offered in this text provides what the experts call "comprehensible input.") To become fluent in Ancient Greek, the first step is to internalize the basic forms, and this text, in conjunction with audio recordings produced by the authors, constitutes a living language approach much appreciated by those of us looking for a new way to learn (and improve) the language. Also, this book provides a wonderful alternative to English-to-Greek exercises, a main-stay of Grammar-Translation. Because of the lay-out of the text, it is easy to look at the pictures and the Greek text first, and then to look only at the pictures and reproduce the Greek, either orally or in writing, based on the PICTURES instead of based on written English. Then one can check one's Greek against the text. This provides a target-language only method of actively producing Greek that will drill home the basic forms and vocabulary. The authors provide the lexical form of each word for reference, and in this way declensions are learned in a more intuitive (and fun!) manner. Towards the end of the book, some slightly more complicated syntax (e.g. infinitives) is introduced, but again the strength of this book is the simplicity of the sentences. The Greek font is large and the book is durable and lays open almost like a magazine.Learners at any level will benefit from this book. Kudos to the authors!

Warning to Kindle eInk owners
Hello folks.I cannot comment on the actual content of this volume, only on the usability of said content on some Kindle devices. If you own a Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Keyboard or similar Kindle device, this book is likely far too graphically intensive to be well utilized by you. Kindle DX owners might be able to get some use while those with Kindle Fire devices and people reading using the Kindle app on their large computer screen might find some good usability. The pages can text cannot be easily manipulated to allow for easy reading for most eyes (even young ones!) on the eInk type Kindle devices. This means that all of the content is generally very small and cannot be made larger for all intents and purposes. I suggest you download the sample first to determine if it is right for you.

Great for vocab memorization
I love the content of this book: it's helping me to memorize lots of vocab due to great illustrations. The only drawback that I find has to do with the low quality of print (I'm referring to illustrations' captions which at some pages are blurry). Now, it might be just my copy. Besides, this book is really helpful. Thank you.
