SAMSUNG BN59-01220A BN59-01220E Remote Control

The price is pretty outrageous, but until someone is able to point out a cheaper equivalent I suppose we gotta pay up. (yeah, sure, there are probably some universal remote options, but let's not get into that discussion) This is the model of remote that came with my television, so it is the model that I wished to use after my first broke after clattering to the floor one too many times. Ergonomically: I love the controller. It has an easy layout & fits it the hand wonderfully. Do I like how the curved shape of the remote means that if one corner gets nudged off a table, the whole thing is gonna take a tumble? (Or would it be smarter to place the remote down upside down?) No; I think the shape is just asking for damage & ultimately replacement. I strongly suggest people buy a cover for their remote. Unfortunately, by the time anyone reads this review they will almost certainly have already dropped & broken their first remote.What I will say is this: Syncing the remote to your television is the easiest thing in the world. I got close to the television (which may have not even been necessary) and held the Return/Exit button simultaneously with the Extra button for a few seconds. Done. Super easy, barely an inconvenience. Other than being so precariously shaped & obviously the price- The remote is great.

If this remote were of good quality, I wouldn't need to replace it. I never did anything to my old one that should have broken it. But the power button stopped working, the left and right arrows would skip, and I needed a new one. So I don't expect this one to last long either.Not everything works on the new one. The Extra button doesn't work. That's not a defect in the remote control, but Samsung decided arbitrarily to no longer support a key feature that we all paid for. They never claimed that it was a temporary service or a subscription with an expiration date. Unless they want to claim that the useful life of a TV is only a few years, they are selling you a replacement remote control with special buttons that no longer serve any purpose.The advantages of this over a cheap generic remote control are few, if they take away key features for no reason. It's overpriced and it has a joypad and eight buttons on the front, with one of the buttons doing nothing. Most things that would be easier with a cheap generic remote control require bringing up an onscreen menu with this one.

Remote was delivered sooner then original date .!!! And it was wrapped so well, we were able to connect to my samsung tv so quickly . Thanks!!!! Update my son threw the remote in his cup of juice once I was able to find it. (Insode his bbq play set) it was to late placed it in rice for 24 hrs nothing so ordered a new one this is my 3rd remote with this company. All remote have broken do too black of responsibilities you could say . Next time I will forsure be getting warranty I forgot to click warranty and just realised now that it's out for delivery . Anyways like my product

We always have trouble with technical gadgets. In this particular case, it was programming the new Samsung remote. So, hubby and I are sitting there and I thought contact the seller, maybe they can help. Lo and behold, within 5 minutes I received a reply back from "TOOLS" with the info I needed. BAM. We are now streaming and we are happy. Yes, the Samsung remote is a little pricey, but I don't fool around. Hope this helps in your decision making.

This remote worked great. As a replacement remote it would fantastic. However, i bought the remote with the hope of having two remotes for the one TV in our living room. This was intended to prevent us from having to pass the remote back and forth. Unfortunately, the TV will only pair with one Samsung remote at a time. Pairing with the new remote will unpair the original one and vise versa. So, if you need a replacement remote this is one works great! If you need a second remote, you will have to buy an aftermarket universal remote.

Not backlit when pressing a button. Didn't realize that when ordering. Wouldn't have minded paying this much if it was backlit like the original. Everything else works properly, so at least that is good. Found a used one for $15 on Facebook. It's backlit.

The remote works great but did not send instruction book. would of liked an instruction book. Worked great for the time it lasted. I had to order another remote today 04/12/21 , Did not realize that I might need a case to protect the remote.

Must have for this Samsung as a back up to the one and only original remote you get with the tv. The TV picture quality is great, but if any remote problems all of other tv controls are on the back side of the tv Very hard to reach and use. Very poor tv control system for a back up if anything happens to your remote. YOU CAN HARDLY READ CONTOL NAMES ON THE TV. The name of each control is embossed in the same black plastic that the tv backing is made from. Need a flashlight or angled light to even read the exterior tv mounted controls---very poor control design for such a great tv picture.

Works fine. Not the same quality as original unit. Lighter weight maybe done because original unit is actually a little too heavy for its size.
