I got this for my grandchildren (ages 3 & 1) to play on but it is so soft my granddaughter actually fell asleep on it. Folds up nicely to put away and bring out as needed. Much thicker (and softer) than I anticipated.

We laid this out and the first thing we all said was, "Wow! This is soooo soft!"While perhaps not the perfect hopscotch "board" as it were, this little carpet from HiiARug is a great thing for a child's bedroom or a playroom. Light, cute, and super soft, it can make play time or carpet time comfortable and amusing for a child. The granddaughter even wanted to lay down and sleep on it. It's just that soft.It's a bit large for a machine washing, but it vacuums up just fine. It's a great buy!

This is a standard playmat, as pictured, and it works very well. It's soft and nonabrasive and it has the specified designs and they enjoy using it, so I'm happy with it. Good luck in your search.
