Easy to follow instructions.
I bought the 8-pack of dehydrated sourdough starter and used them as stocking stuffers for my siblings last Christmas—and they were a hit! Such a fun and unique gift idea, especially for anyone who’s into baking or wants to dip their toes into sourdough but is gluten free! I also didn't realize that once you have a starter going you can share it with others so maybe the 8 pack wasn't necessary. Make sure you read the front and back side one of them is for GLUTEN FREE and the other is their REGULAR STARTER!I kept one for myself and used it to start a gluten-free sourdough starter back in January. It was super easy to activate with clear instructions, and I’m honestly impressed—my starter came to life quickly and is still going strong months later! Bubbly, active, and baking up some delicious muffins, waffles, donuts, and pizza crust.Highly recommend if you want a starter that’s beginner-friendly, giftable, and legit. Plus, love that it gave me a reliable gluten-free option without all the guesswork. Solid 5 stars from me!

Harassment over refund by Customer Service!
I have used this starter for many years, I have fed the starter and grown the starter from this co . many times! When I mentioned that I am familiar with their starter and I use it in my bakery, that this one specifically did not work and would not come alive no matter how much I fed it, given the fact that I have used all the same water, temperature etc. before, I figured they would understand that I was very educated on baking with their starter. I figured I would get a refund given that, their starter did not work. Their product was bad. When I mentioned this I got the runaround, I was asked 1 million questions, told that if I didn't answer the questions that nothing would be done, I told them I already answered your question When I mentioned that I am familiar with their starter and I use it in my bakery, that this one specifically did not work and would not come alive no matter how much I said it, given the fact that I have used all the same water, temperature etc. before, I figured they would understand that I was very educated on baking with their starter. I figured I would get a refund given that, their starter did not work. Their product was bad. When I mentioned this I got the runaround, I was asked 1 million questions, told that if I didn't answer the questions that nothing would be done, I told them I already answered your questions as I've used your starter before. That should be the biggest answer to your question, I'm not ignorant I know what I'm doing here and I do the same thing every time with your starter. This starter is dead. They still would not give me a refund, harassed me a little more and said just this one time they're gonna send me another starter!I would never order from this company again. And I sent them a lot of business through my bakery!Horrible customer service. When somebody simply asks for a refund and shows you proof that your starter doesn't work. You just do it or you're gonna lose a lot of business!

Easy GF starter to kick off your sourdough journey
As a gluten free person I find fresh baked bread the thing I miss most. Many of my friends were on the sourdough bandwagon and I wanted to also! This starter worked great! I’m on my 4th loaf at this point and each is better than the last. This starter was expensive, but from everything I read online making your own gluten feee starter is very tricky! I’ve been extremely pleased!!

Great - needs patience. Use whole grain flour & control your environment!
I was sure my starter wasn't working for at least a week - it needs patience and be sure you use a whole grain. I contacted customer support and they helped me. I don't think the small pamphlet that comes with the starter is enough info. Definitely go to the website and contact customer support for guidance. I did start mine with white rice flour, (meant to buy brown online & got mislead by the search result). Once I started brown rice, the starter seemed to be more active. When the liquid appeared on top (called hooch) during the first week or two, I would discard it but add additional water to make up for what I poured off - it doesn't happen anymore. I started this in mid December, it's cold right now in the PNW so I put it in bottom of my oven with the light turned on and a kitchen towel to keep it ajar + a sheet pan on the top shelf...these 3 things helped maintain 75-80 degrees. Or I would keep my starter above my oven on a pullout shelf when the oven was in use and left the oven ajar when it was done baking. At 4 weeks my starter had the perfect sour flavor and was doubling. I've had some successes and failures with my baking experiments - it takes a lot of adjusting due to environmental conditions. All my successful recipes have been from Bakerita. Good luck, be patient (it may take 7-14 days before it's ready to use), use a whole grain such as brown rice, and contact customer service before you give up. It's SO worth it!

Great gluten free sourdough starter!
I looked long and hard to find a gluten free sourdough starter before finding this one! The instructions are a little bit confusing on the pamphlet inside, but when I reached out to the company to clarify, they responded to my email within 24 hours. My sourdough tasted like regular sourdough (per family that can eat regular sourdough). I was pleased with this product and glad that I could find a gluten free starter that turned out so well!

Couldn’t get it to bubble :(
Followed the directions that were included but I couldn’t get my starter to bubble. Tried different suggestions from Google searches & ended up with mold in my jar 😭 so I’m having to throw away my starter 😫

Gluten free sourdough who would have thunk it?
I grew up around San Francisco, and was raised on sourdough bread. When I moved out east, there wasn’t any around at the time. I made whole wheat bread and loved it. When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, no more bread for me. Now not only can I have sourdough bread, it’s gluten free!! Yeah

Worthless!
Very disappointed as this was a flop. It did not ferment as it should and I carefully followed the directions. A total waste of money and time, not to mention the flour that was used with it. Do not buy or try!
