RothcoCanvas European Rucksack

Great bag to carry a lot of things. Before buying this bag, I was typically weary about wearing book bags on the crowded public transportation system because you are an easy target for pickpockets, or your are susceptible to dropping/losing items in bag if the zippers or straps aren't secure. With this bag, I like that it has real straps, not like many of the new bags that use "faux straps", so the items are always securely strapped in and can't be easily accessed. The material is tough and sturdy, and the top compartment is great for packing smaller items that you need to access quickly, and is also great for your more fragile items, like headphones, ipad, etc.

It's a thick material bag. The back straps are made, as I believe, to go as normal through the normal back pack way. Then they go back up and over the strap clasp, back through where the strap enters the clasp. Works well for me.I think it's the Euro way.

I really wanted to like this bag, I really did. But the straps on the top flap are so short that you literally cannot close the bag when it's full. and because they are so short you have to unstring and restring the military style buckles every time you open it. Crying shame, because the material feels super durable and the size is amazing. Shoulder straps could use a little padding. Oh and mine had a cut in the waist belt material so I couldn't adjust the size. Too bad.

This backpack is great for hiking and has served me well since I bought it. The only problem I have is that one of the straps is much looser than the other and constantly needs tightening. The canvas is heavy-duty which also means the backpack itself needs some kind of internal framework to keep it from collapsing on itself (unless you have it full of things). Much bigger than I expected however it works perfectly. I use a simple cardboard box to keep the backpack in a good shape so it doesn't fold over my notebooks. I will be replacing the straps with one wide, think one for personal preference.

The bag isn’t perfect but it’s one of my favorite bags.

Great bag. I needed a nice big bag to lug around and this one certainly has size and durability. Since it's canvas putting just a little stuff in it makes its form dip down at the bottom. Folding a blanket and putting it at the bottom helps keep its shape for me.

This bag was supposedly the same bad I saw in urban outfitters for forty dollars. I bought it thinking I would save twenty bucks so I did. The only thing I realized was that this bag isn't suitable for walking to work and on the subway, because access to compartments is difficult to get in due to the belt clips.This product is great, it's just not what I needed it for.

Seems to be very durable. Plenty of room. Definitely worth the money.
