Useless for midges
Advertised for midges but the mesh is too open so the midges just come through it. Probably ok for mosquitos but don’t waste your money if youre off to Scotland in the summer.

Love it!
I wish I had knew this before. I tried while hiking (we spent about 6 hours, no bites, no bugs around my ears) and while doing my gardening. In the city I live we have a mosquito issue, and this thing helps a lot. You still can see pretty well through the screen and it doesn't get hot. I got the black model.

If you already have a favorite hat, this is all you need.
Keep all those nasty biting bugs, even tiny No-Seeums Away ! The tight dark mesh is nearly invisible while wearing & offers perfect protection. Large enough diameter to fit over a typical hat & long enough to provide protection even while working. Handy little pouch keeps it close at hand when not in use. Highly Recommend !

MUST HAVE
We live in the country and flies, wasps and mouquitos ruin any outside time. I can't hang laundry without being attacked. These are AMAZING. I put it over my hat and they can't get at me. LOVE THESE!
