SHIMANO 11 Speed Chain Quick Link Connector SM-CN900 (2 Pairs)

Not original packaging, thus suspect. Return initiated. I now see others have complained of the same issue. I'm not trusting my life (not being hyperbolic, riding 50mph down hill on generic parts is not my idea of safe) to something that comes in an un-marked plastic baggie.

The quick links came in a zip top bag, not manufacturer packaging. Not a big deal, they were going to be taken out and used. They were stamped Shimano 11S which is what I ordered for my Shimano 11 speed chain. The problem is they do not fully lock. No matter what tools I used, I could never get them to lock. There is no way these could be used in the field of your chain breaks which was the reason I purchased 2 pair. One for now, one for emergency. I ended up ordering the SRAM quick links and had no problems.

As others have said, these quick links are complete trash and do not fully lock on a genuine Shimano 11-speed chain. I thought perhaps that I just had a bad batch, but given that others are having the same issues it seems very likely that these are counterfeit garbage.

Good to keep in my tool bag in case of a chain break. They go on quick, don’t add much weight and will get you back on the road.

Seems to be a thinner material than ones purchased in the past.
