Je viens de recevoir la petite maisonnette , pas vraiment conforme , 1 seule couleur , pas de teinte différente pour le toit , le problème est le colis !!! la boite m'est arrivée pratiquement éventrée … plusieurs trous , aucun emballage pour la protéger , résultat 1 bardeau brisé et le petit support en métal pour supporter l'oiseau à l'entrée tout croche … . le petit trou à l'arrière pour vider la cabane est vraiment petit et pas d'aération pour la chaleur l'été . J'espère que la deuxième maisonnette que j'ai commandée ne sera pas dans le même état .P.S. comme elle est discontinuée je l'ai réparée moi-même .

Love the little house so far, bought for a gift..... a small opening about 4 x 6, had been cut into the top of the cardboard delivery box so "someone" could look inside. There was no inside box, and no packing of any kind...(should have at least had some paper or plastic inside) must have been rattling around inside since goodness only knows when! because it looks like it has been in stock forever. dusty,.... wire trim bent, just waiting to catch on some tiny bird's wing. One reviewer mentioned the cleanout door is very tiny, and no holes or drilled ANYWHERE for some kind of air cooling for the occupants on a super hot summer day.. Love the house, but not happy about the condition it arrived in.

Now to wait for the spring and see if one of our beautiful birds makes a home in it.

Boxes are cute and seem pretty well put together. But the clean out hole in the back is too small to be effective. (Only big enough for 1 finger) Had to get them enlarged to make them useful. Plus, there are no air vent holes!! In the hot, muggy South that could mean death for the chicks! If there was a useable clean out and some air vents, would be 5 stars.

I got this to put on our front porch for the wrens who insist on nesting on our porch every year. Often they nest in very unsafe areas and predators can get to the babies, so I invested in a house or two and decided to decorate them a little. I did modify this house to make it more functional. My husband took a large portion of the back off so it can be cleaned each year and replaced with a little latch. The little door it came with is not nearly sufficient to clean this house out. I also soaped the inside roof of the house to keep wasps from nesting in them. Our porch is covered and we do have a problem with wasps setting up shop, so I wanted to make sure this didn't happen in a bird house. It's just unscented bar soap that can be rubbed on the inside ceiling to prevent wasps from attaching and building nests. I decided to decorate the house a little with a grapevine wreath and some rustic spring twigs and vines. It turned out pretty cute and spruced up the deck a little bit. We live in the woods on a lake in a log cabin, so rustic is the theme around here. Overall, this is a nice little house and very well built. I would recommend if you wish to use it as a functional bird box and not just for decoration that you make a few modifications so it can be used year after year by your wrens or chickadees.
