Q: Is this available in larger quantities?

I do believe they are in different colors you should be able to find them all at the store selling them if you click on the name of the store on the website it tells you on the post I normally can find it at the very top of the page on my phone however it may appear different on your type of page.

Q: I want to send books that are 5" wide and 5/8" thick. Will they fit into these envelopes? (Length isn't a problem.)

I highly doubt it. I tried a book 5.25 inches x 5/8 and it would not fit. If it is less wide it would be close.

Q: Does the adhesive go across the full width edge-to-edge?

Yes the adhesive is very strong and it goes all the way across. Make sure you fold over to your desired fold.

Q: are these recyclable?

All poly bubble mailers are recyclable with grocery store bags.
