Okay for tracing
I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a projector (using it to make wood decorations for my neighborhood), so I searched for something that was inexpensive but half-way decent. Looked and and read many reviews on many different products. I settled on this one after reading the reviews. Several had commented that they liked the projector and used it to project movies/etc on the wall for their kids to watch. In all honesty, I do not know how they could give a good rating for that purpose. When I turn on the unit (I use it connected to my iPad and have also tried computer) the image is a) small and b) blurry. There is a small slider adjustment to make the picture clearer, but it is not clear enough to watch a movie on (in my opinion). As for my use, I project images onto a posterboard for tracing and it works pretty good for that purpose. It would help if it were a little brighter. I really can't use it if there is too much light coming in from the window or if I do, it is hard to see. I haven't really used the remote so I can't speak to it's ease of use.Overall, for what I am using it for and the price (as compared to the standard projectors) it's not bad. But I really would not recommend for the use of watching TV programming.I've only had it a couple of months - will have to see how long it lasts.

Decent price for a projector!
I had my doubts about purchasing this but I think it was better than most people made it out to be.Pros:>Decent price for a portable projector. Projectors are extremely pricey but I didn’t want to go all out because my intention of using this was just to watch tv without setting up a tv on my wall.>Gets the job done if you don’t care about picture quality.>Easy to set up.>Works with Apple TV & Amazon Fire Stick. I have not tried any other streaming boxes.Cons:>Not very bright, you’ll need a very dark room for it. My room is extremely dark which makes the picture look decent.>Very pixely! I swear you can count off each pixel. This does not bother me but if you are looking for something HD, SKIP THIS!!!>Noisy & low sound quality. The fan is very loud while the inner speaker isn’t very good. Totally recommend using your own speakers. I actually used cheap computer speakers and it gets the job done.>Sensitive short wires. If you bump the plug in, it will turn off. The wire is way too short.(I have a very small room. My projector is only a few feet away from the wall. The picture looks good for my set up but I’m not sure how well it would if if you were to increase the distance. Keep this in mind.)Overall, I think it gets the job done if you don’t care about picture quality and are looking for a TV alternative. I grew up with that classic low quality during my childhood so it doesn’t really bother me. Lol. :)

Works well, but not that clear of a picture and you can only use it when the room is very dark.
This projector is cute, portable, and relatively easy to use! The drawback to it is that you have to move the projector rather far back to get a clear picture (for some reason you can't get a clear picture with a small, close-up projected screen). Moving the projector farther back does make a nice large screen, but it would be nice if you could also have a good picture quality with a small close-up projection. Also, I had thought that this projector would work without being plugged in (I thought you could charge its battery and use it without it being connected to the wall), but it appears as if my model needs to always be plugged in. That can make projection positioning rather tricky. The picture quality is not as good as I would have liked. With a big screen the image looks fine, but it's either blurry if it's too close, or it's very boxy and not super well defined even if you are doing the farther back big screen. I was also frustrated that I couldn't use it during the day because my room didn't get dark enough (you need a very dark room to be able to see the projection).Overall, it was worth buying as a cute, portable, easy-to-use projector, but don't expect a high quality image and be prepared to use this device sparingly rather than regularly.

Great for kids, not much else
I did not expect much from this product so I wasn't very disappointed. I wanted to try out a low cost projector first before I dropped the money for all the bells and whistles.I chose this one because it has two separate power inputs. You can use the supplied AC adapter to get full brightness out of the back light. It's still not bright enough for day time viewing but it's noticeably brighter than using the micro USB power port. I really like the fact that it has that micro USB option. I hooked my Roku streaming device to it and powered them both off of a battery bank and it lasted long enough to watch two programs. (Your time will vary depending in the size of the battery bank you use) This portability makes it great for camping. The resolution isn't great. It's not even good. I had trouble navigating my Roku menus because the letters were difficult to read. This thing would be useless in a professional office setting or anywhere that legible text is desired. But more than suitable to let the kids watch some cartoons. I would suggest an external speaker as the built in speaker isn't designed to give a rich quality.Considering the low price point and portability I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing to do now is see how long it lasts and whether or not it can survive a camping trip with small children.

It’s better than you’d expect for the price, but not much more.
Bought this to play my SNES mini and other mini game consoles while I’m away from home on business. I stay in a sparse suite with no TV in the bedroom. For retro games, absolutely this is more than adequate. Yes, you see pixels and sure it could be brighter, but there are other advantages that I don’t think a lot of reviewers consider. This can be powered solely by a USB power bank, meaning you can literally put it anywhere, including outdoors camping with no access to a mains. The DC cord supplied is too short anyway. I wasn’t expecting anything that would blow me away, and I got a bit better quality than I expected. The colors are vibrant and the design of the unit is nice. The portability was a huge purchase factor for me, and the remote is great, but you an still operate all functions with the buttons on the unit. This was one of the main things that turned me off about ViewSonic’s portable offering. I know I’d lose the remote eventually. The speaker is also quite loud and the volume knob is very nice to have right there on the unit.
