Good Pulp Novel
I bought this as a gift, and I'm going to be honest with you and tell you that I had forgotten all about buying it. Recently, however, I happened upon In The Miso Soup, and read that....and I loved it. So then I finally read this book too. Fast paced, exciting and unafraid. I love this author and would recommend to anyone. I do recommend to lots of people, in fact!

Not unpleasant mistake.
I actually bought 3 of Ryu Murakami's books by mistake, I mixed up him and Haruki Murakami. I was actually pleasantly surprised, not to say that there is much pleasant about this book. It delves into some very dark territory but does it really well. As twisted as one of the characters is, I was still kind of sympathetic towards them. I don't know how I would describe this book in a few words, maybe, twisted, grimy and unpleasant but enjoyable. I have probably done a bad job at writing a review but sure why don't you buy it if you have read this far and see for yourself.

Murakami is amazing
Dark and disturbing, also hilarious in places, Ryu Murakami is an amazing author, This is actually my Fav book by him, but i recomend In the Miso soup and Audition also! its such a gripping book that i read it in one sitting, being only 186 pages i think it is easy to do!Its VERY Japanese as you would expect but nothing is lost in translation and it will make you desperate to read more of his work.
