These rusks are mild and fresh tasting. Never used them before but now they are my go-to for croutons, panzanella, "creamy" tomato soup, etc. So much better than spending time making your own croutons and far better than the greasy overly seasoned croutons from the supermarket. Takes a while to soften, so you might want to soak for 20 minutes if you want them damp. Otherwise they stay crunchy. Be aware that each rusk is about 5 inches long by 2 inches think, however, in the package there will be a few broken ones.

These are some big rusks, the largest I've had so far. They measure about 1"x1"x2", sometimes larger. They have the form of slices taken from a flatter loaf, sort of like an airy biscotti. They are hard, and feel like they'd be too hard to eat dry, but they break apart under slight pressure, after which they are merely very crunchy.Great flavor, strong, authentic rye, so much that they don't need any condiments, though they are enhanced substantially by a little bit of good butter. Well balanced flavor, not too salty or too mild, not sweet at all. I enjoyed them, but they weren't nearly as popular in the household as many other rusks I've purchased, probably because they are harder to eat compared to slices. They don't dip particularly well, as they aren't very absorbent, but I found they went well with the oil that came with my tinned cod liver.So I'd recommend them if you like rusk and you like rye, and don't might the chunky form factor.

Reminds me old times going to my Grand Mother village (Klima, is few Km away) in Crete and eating it from the brick oven directly. I love it taste perfect with everything. Thank you Tsiknakis.

Very expensive for this quantity

Although the product tastes good, the shipping packaging choice from the vendor results in the product arriving damaged as it is a food item that breaks and crumbles making it unusable for its intended purpose.
