Read it twice!
Finance isn’t my best “language” so I’m reading it twice and am getting a lot of value out of it the second time around with a highlighter in hand. I just did my PPY taxes and I feel like I did a good job following the tips in the book. Here’s a tip for readers… read the “tip” BEFORE reading the section that it describes rather than only after (where it’s currently positioned) in order to understand ahead of time what that section is going to be about.

A good go to guide
I read the book from cover to cover mostly. A lot of it didn't apply to our situation, and some of the information felt like I could've gotten it off the internet too, but I was happy to have it in our arsenal when navigating the daunting process of applying for financial aid, and also lobbying for a better deal!

I wish I had bought this way earlier
I wish I had bought this way earlier when my son was still in elementary / middle school. Now is late. There are a lot of things I didn’t know. You think you are saving for 529K and that would be a good move ? Apparently not always. Wow. Anyways. We have been saving. We’ll see

If you need to know about the CHANGES IN THE FAFSA AND PROFILE this is the book
I have read the 2021 edition of this book several times. I did not realize there would be so many changes and updates in the 2022 edition. The first I learned of all the changes was when I spoke to Kal Chany and he started talking about the CHANGED FUTURE of the government rules on Financial Aid.I do not think you can do a good job in filling out the FAFSA and Profile (TO YOUR BEST ADVANTAGE) without this book. These authors are the EXPERTS.
