ProMaster MR1 Macro Focusing Rail with Quick Release - Precise and Stable Camera Movement for Stunning Macro Photography, (Model 6095)

This rail has never let me down. The build quality is A+ and has rock solid smooth movement in all 4 directions. This is better than anything else in the price range. In fact, there's really nothing between this and those top-of-the line models costing hundreds of dollars more. So unless you're in the macro business full time and can afford that tiny bit extra that the high end models provide (which for me is not much more), buy this rail because you're going to love the macro photography you'll get with it, at a fraction of the cost.

First the good points: This is a solid piece of equipment. The base plate fits my Really Right Stuff (RRS) BH-55 ball head perfectly. The top clamp is also a perfect fit for my RRS L-bracket on my full frame DSLR. . I could have paid $655 for a RRS focusing rail, or over $500 for one from Arca-Swiss. I have a solid piece of equipment that meets my needs and exceeds my expectations. The bad points - none. The only minor issue some people may have is the focusing knobs are not micro adjustments. If you are slow and careful in your adjustments of front/back, left/right shifts the product will do the job and leave money to buy more accessories..

Well built rails with solid set screws. I have a hefty camera and lens, so I still need to be a little patient. Worth the money I spent and I will hold off spending 2-5 times this amount.

This macro rail works well and is compatable with my arca swiss plates. The only con I would have is that it is a little heavy.

Too light weight for a heavy camera. Only to be used with the camera mounted horizontally. With my D800 and a 105 mm macro lens it does not move very smoothly and every time I use the tightening knob the camera moves from side to side making it useless.

Hardware supplied for attaching ARCA plate was not correct. The csk Allen head screws were too short. The overall quality was good. Using the rail for vertical macro shots risky. Loosen the set screw in this position better have a grip on your camera or it will fall.

I like this product because of the metric ruler. A lot of Focus Rail devices do not feature a ruler. It's a perfect fit to my Arc Swiss Clamp systems.

I had high hopes for this product. But before my first photo shoot, an adjustment knobs froze and the sliding mechanism cannot be moved without substantial force rendering this focusing rail useless for my needs. The window period for returning this unit unfortunately passed (5/4/17), or else I would've assuredly returned the product for a full refund.

It is smooth sliding. But screw fitting is disappointing . My camera was above to fall.
