This Camera Is Awesome!
Wow, what a difference this camera makes when recording in front of my computer. The picture quality is amazing. I also like that it came with a privacy flip window you can attach and close when the camera is not in use. Even during Teams/Zoom meetings, everyone has commented on the quality of my feed. Love this camera!

Premium webcam that has some nice features and excellent image quality
Very user friendly webcam with excellent image quality and features. I plugged this into my main windows laptop and it downloaded the drivers needed and then notified me that it was ready to use. Knowing that this camera is capable of Windows Hello face authentication (unlocking the computer by simply facing the camera), is the thing that made me decide to review it. I have used a number of Microsoft Surface devices that have this feature and it's absolutely wonderful, I have no idea why Apple can't bring this feature to the Mac but it is a shame. Having an Apple Watch and a Mac computer is basically just as good, but still not the same thing, at all.Registering my face and setting up Windows Hello was easy, I was sure that something would bug out and I would need a reboot to get it working, but it worked on the first try without needing a restart. I was also happy to see that unplugging the webcam after setup and then plugging it back in did not invalidate the option to use face unlock. So you can freely unplug it knowing that it will all still work when you plug it back in. The IR sensor embedded in the camera is what allows it to be Windows Hello certified, you can't do this with just any old webcam. It worked equally well on Mac OS, which recognized the device immediately. I did a FaceTime call to test out the camera, for some reason, it seems like Mac OS will crop the field of view when using FaceTime but this might be changeable in the settings. I personally think that this is more compelling to use with Windows than with Mac OS, but at least we know that it works well with both. The thing that surprised me the most about this webcam is just how wide of a perspective you get, I knew it was an ultra wide angle camera, but it still impressed me how much of the room was able to be inside the frame. You can adjust the field of view to three different options- 70 degrees, 90 degrees, and the full 120 degrees. And it looks amazing too! The quality of the image is way above and beyond anything you are likely to come across on a laptop, because the hardware is so constrained by the thinness of the lid. This webcam has plenty of room to fit an 8 megapixel sensor inside, 1/2.5” is the physical size of the CMOS sensor. There is also a pretty substantial looking lens, which also goes a long way in giving you a better quality picture.Inside the box, they include a lot of little extras. You get a durable, metal USB A to USB C adapter for newer laptops that don't have USB A, you also get a nice little carrying pouch for taking the camera with you in your laptop bag or just for storing more securely. And then there is a privacy shutter that you can semi-permanently install on the front of the webcam, it has adhesive strips so it will stay in place. There is also the usual QuickStart guide included in the box, but it's really not needed because of how easy this device is to setup and use. This product is a valid alternative to other premium products like the Logitech Brio and the Razer Kiyo Pro. In some ways, this is more targeted at business use because it does have Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, and Zoom certification (on top of the Window Hello certification). I am loving this product and can't wait until my next video call to be able to use it again and show off the quality of my video.

4k Webcam with IR support for Windows Hello
With my new Windows 11 system, I was looking for a new webcam that would support Windows Hello for biometric login. What I found in my research is that most of the webcams that have the IR function required to enable Windows Hello generally supports a lower level of video resolution, or they cost a fortune. When this camera became available for review, I jumped at the opportunity as it appeared to have all of the bells and whistles I was looking for.The package included the webcam, a privacy screen, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, and a soft bag to contain the cam when not in use. None of the accessories are applicable to my installation but are a nice touch. I was impressed by the overall construction of the cam: the body is aluminum, and it has a nice, long cable that's thicker and most. Installation involved plugging in the camera... it connected immediately in Windows 11 Pro. The camera is designed to clip to the top of a monitor, and also supports a 1/4" screw for attachment to a tripod. After setting a few simple options in my security settings, I was able to enable Windows Hello on my system. What this windows application does is make multiple dimensional scans of your face to use as an alternative to a password or PIN for login. At present this only supplants the login to Windows, but the clamor to Microsoft has been to extend this capability to other apps, much the way the iPhone enables facial recognition as a means to secure other apps. After setup it has worked perfectly. The bonus to me is the overall quality of the webcam imaging. It captures a 4K image that is crisp and clear, and it works well with Microsoft Teams and Zoom for conferencing (the two tools I use daily.)I did have one concern with the camera: when the system is on, whether the cam is in use or not, the barrel/body of the camera becomes quite warm. I reached out to Yealink, the manufacturer/seller to question this. The development team stated that this is actually normal for this camera and shouldn't be a cause for concern.Bottom line: I'm loving this camera: it fulfills me need for biometric imaging for Windows login, and it captures a sharp, high-quality image as a camera. It was somewhat pricey but offers the best in both resolution and IR imaging. This is considered a business-class device. As another reviewer mentioned, a control software package called "Yealink USB Connect" is available for free that enables firmware updates to the camera and also enables intricate adjustments to the camera... it's definitely a plus.I would definitely order this camera again, and based upon my experiences so far, I have no problems recommending it for purchase.
