This amplifier works extremely well for me, however my experience must be qualified by saying that the phone I'm using is a less expensive one. It, too, has a volume enhancer, but it is powered strictly by the phone line.Clearsounds uses AC electricity for its power. Any limitations to sound (voices being distorted) I attribute to the cheaper phone. I'm anxious to experiment with a more mechanical telephone dated from back in the 1980s, and see what kind of quality I get with *it*.Bottom line: this is a profound product considering both performance and price. It even has a sound "boost" button which really comes in handy when the person on the other end of the line allows their voice to drop temporarily. And it goes strictly between the handset and the phone body, thus removing interference with the line signal itself.One warning: I mustn't use the sound enhancer *on the phone itself*, or there is feedback. This amplifier provides all the enhancement that is needed.

Right Away! No light! Higher than the Speed of most Saving More perhaps by not Buying From This Co. Also this is no speakerphone amp. I would still have to hold the line of my handset. Low stars but sellers are only alright often..better than no business we might say..

I got this for my 91 yr old mom who is getting more deaf as the years go on. It really does amplify the sound from the handset on her big numbered cradle phone. But. It’s a little awkward to use because the gadget hangs by a cord off the handset. This means you need an old fashioned handset. We got a lot of feedback sound at first but figured out you need to leave the volume down until after you answer the phone (then put it on speakerphone if you have it and turn up the volume.) It might be different with a different phone. But not sure she likes that we took her excuses of “I can’t hear you” and “I must not have heard you.” Lol. It’s loud enough for her even with her bad hearing and she’s talking to us longer on the phone now, and without saying “huh” every five seconds; because she can actually hear us lol. Read the instructions and put it on the proper “channel.” Good sound quality after you figure out the feedback issue. Good price. I think I got it on an Amazon prime day in July. Worth it!! Especially if you consider how much hearing aids are!

Loud buzzing with volume turned up. Also phone speaker distorts with the added volume. You might want to pair this with some sort if special headset that is made to be able to play louder. This device did not help me at all.

I bought this for my 88-year-old father, took it to his house and had it hooked up to a land line phone and working within minutes, using the very simple instructions. Lately I have to shout for my father to hear me even with his hearing aids on. After I connected the amplifier, I went upstairs and called him from my cell phone. We were able to talk quite easily in normal tones with him hearing every word I said. I walked back into the room where he was on his amplified phone and said "This works so well, I hate to hang up." He agreed so we sat in the same room for a few minutes still talking by phone. When we did hang up, I said, "That was great, wasn't it?" and he said, "What?" Now if I have important information for him I make sure I impart it over the phone. I am quite pleased with the way this little device works and the way it has improved his life.

The unit does not work at all. When I plugged in the power cord: nothing. Either the unit itself or the cord that was sent along with it is defective. So, no matter how easy to assemble/use as this device may be, it doesn't do me much good. If this is the level of quality that one gets from this manufacturer -- and the sticker on the unit indicates that "O.C. Passed" -- I would never buy from it.

Amplifier works great!! It's beautifully designed and easy to hook up; I only had to change the setting on the dial underneath the unit (as described in the included manual) and it immediately synched with my phone and has worked like a champ ever since. Prior to this, I had stopped using my landline phone because I just could not hear what callers were saying. But with this device, even the most quiet-voiced people come blasting through with the volume set to less than half of it's power! I also like the Tone control, which lets me tailor speaking voices as needed (adding some "crispness" to those that have a hollow voice). Although this unit can run on batteries, I'm using it with the supplied wall adapter (as I hate to keep up with batteries).Admittedly, I've not tested other units of this kind, but I can HIGHLY recommend this unit.

I wear hearing aids and have problems hearing most callers especially my grand children. I have used telephone amplifiers in the past some work for a while then fade out. I decided I needed to find something better that would be easy to increase the volume and would be able to adjust the sound quality. I checked out Amazon and ordered one that appeared to be what I was looking for, however it would not work with my telephone?After calling their teck support we decided it was defective, I sent it back and ordered another one, it would not work either. After a lot of research it appeared that my Panasonic corded/coardless desktop phone with answering machine was the problem. Aparently the unit I bought only works with a corded phone. I decided to either get a new corded telephone or try Clear Sounds CSWIL95 I decided on the CSWIL95 and I'm happy to say it works fantastic, I'm very happy. Thank you very much Clear Sounds.

Extremely poor. It did just the opposite of what it was supposed to. It was bought to make hearing a phone callers voice easier for a senior. Turned on high the caller voice was quieter using this device

Bought as a gift for my dad who is hard of hearing. Easy to set up and worked great. Nice to have control over volume and tone. Dad can hear and also talks quieter because he doesn't feel like he needs to. The only downside is that you need to buy a longer handset cord or the unit will come off the table when you pick up the handset. But still perfect for what we needed it for!

I bought this for my elderly mother who refuses to try hearing aides. After some test trials using the phone, we were able to adjust it to her particular needs. I do like that you can adjust the volume and tone separately, as in this case, only the tone level needed to be increased to improve reception for my mom. There seems to be a light buzzing sound in the background when using this device. I did hang the device on the wall after I found a pair of appropriate screws (would’ve been helpful if it already came with the screws!). This prevented the device from dangling while using the phone handset.
