First, the adhesive strips are visible once the shelves are installed. Second, it’s laughable that the ad says not to put it on a painted wall, and ALL of their example photos are on painted walls. I installed mine on the painted wall over my sink vanity because that’s where all my clutter tends to be. Now, there is another review here that notes the “adhesive strip” came away from the shelf, I have no idea how that’s even possible since the strip has a screw attached to it which attaches to the shelf, there is no adhesive to the shelf, only the wall side. The instructions have images and small blurbs in English, it takes a few minutes to figure out what it’s trying to tell you to do, and so far, I’m loving them. Only negative is the largest of the 3 shelves is not flush to the wall, their plastic mould must have been off when casting it, making the shelf not quite flush to the wall, the smaller 2 were perfect, see pics #4 & 5.

Easy to install. Looks solid and neat.

While I can't speak to longevity as I just purchased these, I'm definitely pleased so far. The instructions did take a beat to figure out but overall it was a straightforward + easy installation process. They're not fancy shelves whatsoever, its a plastic that looks like it would be suited to a dorm room, but once you put your things om the shelves, you can't tell as much. Anyway, gets the job done, and was the best thing I could find at this price point on Amazon.
