Equity in Assesssment - Need of the hour
My review is after reading the book once and participating in book reading clubs. If you are an educator who is open-minded, concerned about your students mental well-being and have the urge to do something for them, you are at the right place and you have chosen the right book. Trevor has written a comprehensive book that is the need of the hour. It paves a pathway to solve the problem of equity in assessment and grading prevalent in the current pandemic situation with many countries going for a blended mode of learning and my country like India which is yet to open the schools. His 'no nonsense' way of saying about co-planning and co-designing the report card to promulgate equity, strategies and recommendations to foster student agency and collaboration in all levels of education all over the world are eyeopeners giving broader perspectives. The sketch notes are a bonus for pinpointing the pathway and resonates with the some of the current practices. Also check out his two books 'Dive into Inquiry' and 'Inquiry Mindset' if you want to enjoy a sense of completion and see the intricately woven connection between the three. Hope this helps.
