Very pleased with this
I searched for a handle that would fit my Sandvik axe head. It has a rather large eye. This was perfect and had ample wood to allow me to customize the fit correctly. The grain orientation was not perfect but it is not terrible either. Excellent product.

Magnificent
Bought this handle in December '18 and have used nearly 3 months. Beautiful grain, wonderful feel. (Wood handles seem to dampen vibrations better than metal or fiberglass.)Replaced the original handle on an L.L. Bean Hudson Bay axe. The original was always loose, eventually cracked. This Beaver Tooth model is of better wood and is made with a slightly oversize profile so that sanding (I used a 4" hand grinder with sanding disk) is needed to adjust the handle to fit snugly into axe head. Note in second photo the proper way to instal the new handle. After completion of sanding, insert handle, tap rear end of handle down on a cement floor until gravity fully seats the head. Handle is supplied with a large wooden wedge and a small steel wedge. Inject water resistant carpenter's glue into slot on end of handle, then hammer in the wood wedge. With a carpenter's crosscut saw remove excess protussion leaving about 3/8". Then hammer in the steel wedge perpendicular to the wooden wedge. Finish the handle with boiled linseed oil.Take pride and enjoy a fine well balanced tool, and keep it sharply honed!

Not bad
This is a nice handle with good straight grain. I found a crack in the end of the handle

functionally good
I put this handle on a small Collins Legitimus Hudson Bay pattern axe head. The handle fit the head properly, and looks like it's made with good wood. But... the manufacturer burned their name into the handle (not shown in the original Amazon photo), not the look I wanted for a classic tool. And the handle is out of proportion - thick and "chunky" as was noted. It looks like it belongs on a 36" axe with a 3 or 4 lb head, not a light kindling axe.A cabinet scraper took the label off easily enough. And a belt sander starting with a coarse grit slimmed the cross section with an hour of effort.

Handle broke at the head the first time it got stuck in something. Very weak handle.
