Not as bad as I thought
Edit: Revising my review up to 3 stars and changing the title. Here's the deal. Don't buy the solar panels. A well-made product would have a charge controller either in the unit or in the solar panel. These do not. If you leave the solar panels plugged in, it burns out the battery. If I have to climb up there and plug in the solar panel to charge it occasionally, what's the point of having solar panels in the first place? But when you DON'T use the solar panels, they don't burn out, and you can charge them off of the wall wart, and they work fine. I'm keeping it at 3 stars because at no point during the purchase process or the multiple exchanges I had to do when they burned out did anyone from AOK mention that you couldn't just plug the solar panel in and leave it. It's not in any instructions they give you, either.Original review from before I learned to just forget the waste-of-money solar panels is below:I bought 10 of these, and while I was still buying things, they had great customer service. The third one just failed tonight. I've had to fight my way through amazon customer support to get replacements twice now, and I'm about to have to do it a third time. They all fail the same: won't take a charge either through the solar panel which I also wasted my money on, or with the charger. I'm expecting that the rest will likely all fail the same way in the weeks to come. If you can leave them plugged in all the time, that might be fine, but I can't. I have to get up on a long ladder every time one of these dies. I don't know if the solar panel damages them or if the batteries just don't work. Either way, look elsewhere.

Works well, I've ordered more...
After getting a pricey quote from a blinds company I decided to go the DIY route. I'm very happy with the result and saved a lot of money. I have installed 6 of these motors in my home. They all have worked great. The charge has lasted for months. The one trick is to find a roller shade with the right tube diameter to fit the motor (1 1/2 inches). Also found using a BOND wifi unit works great for controlling the motors with Alexa. One BOND unit reaches all the shades in the house.

Great DIY purchase
Exceeded my expectations and was easy to use. Mounting is as difficult as your situation but all of the parts were there. We did have to work a bit to get the new end caps to fit in the shades we had (aluminum 1.5” tube). Happy with the purchase.

Convenient but pricey
Even though it make my shades convenient and stylish but it's a bit expensive.

Works good, quality control is dodgy.
Blind motor works fine. Programming instructions are adequate. I ordered 3 motors. 1 worked well. 2 have both ends of the charge cords as female connectors.(see photo)

Save yourself the headache and disappointment and buy something else
Nothing about this shade met my expectations. Didn't fit without modification into standard 1.5" tube. Doesn't come with a solar panel as advertised. Loud. Worst of all unresponsive and impossible to program correctly. I have a much better experience using the Tuya roller shade motor.
