I am a health club owner and these mats will last you forever. We are just replacing after 4 years of use. Can't recommend enough for the durability.

We used to love these mats, but the latest version is a shadow of the previous version’s quality. Sadly, we will need to look for an alternative for our other facilities.

When I ordered this, the description said “yoga mat” but the packaging says “not to be used for yoga”? This is an exercise mat and is thicker in height than a normal yoga mat and thinner in width. It is not meant to be rolled, but can be hung via large, reinforced holes at the end. The rubber is thick and would be good for high-impact exercises like running, hopping, or jogging because of the thick sponginess, especially if you have knee or foot tenderness. This should cushion you well. It does not have a cloth covering like most exercise mats and it is pretty thin in width. If you are doing sit-ups or push-ups it should be fine, but any exercise where your knees go out, it will be too thin. The mat is good at staying in one spot, but it can also be annoying when you actually want to slide it out of the way. It can be a little painful if you try to slide or spin around on it. Bare skin on this material is not good

Despite the rather perplexing warnings that htis mat is not suitable for yoga or just about any other exercise, it is a decent mat. I've been using it with a door exerciser and it functions well It doesn't slide around and provides protection and comfort from the floor. Mine came in onyx, a charcoal type color. Not the most exciting but it does hide dirt and goes with everything. The dimensions are accurate and it can be hung if desired. It is environmentally friendly, a definite plus.

This mat appears very well made. It is really thick! My cat started scratching the surface of the mat and it didn't shred at all. The material is warm, though, it doesn't seem to breathe much, but what it lacks in breathe ability it makes up for in comfort. The hanging rings are very sturdy as well. It isn't just for exercise, either. I have used this mat to sit on wood floors to read with my daughter, and I have used it to kneel on when I built a bookcase on the hard floor. I think it would also work well as a nap mat for a child, especially in a daycare setting because they are much easier to store than cots. The mat I got is fairly short, but there are multiple sizes to choose from. And it is Earth friendly, which is always a huge plus!I don't know that this would be the best choice for a portable mat to take to and from an exercise class, because the mat is so thick and therefore it doesn't roll up very compactly, but if you have a place to store it at a class, are a gym owner and want to buy a bunch of sturdy mats, or don't care about carrying a bulky mat to class because it is worth the comfort, then I think you will be happy with your purchase of this product.

This is a review of the 20 3/8" wide x 48" long x 3/8" thick version of the mat, in 'onyx' (dark gray). According to a label on the plastic bag, it's intended for 'basic stretching exercises only', and is not recommended for 'extreme ballistic and static exercises', or for use with Yoga poses!!!The mat is made of closed-cell TPE (thermo plastic elastomer), and is said to be latex, PVC, phthalates, and chloride-free. So, it should not absorb sweat or water. It has reinforced eyelets with one-inch diameter openings for hanging. Both sides have a different texture. Overall, this is a high-quality, heavy duty, heavy mat. Recommended, except you may want to consider the 68-inch version if you plan to use it for yoga (but this is not recommended by the manufacturer). Mine came shipped in a flat box, folded in half.

When opening the package, the plastic bag was cloudy & sticky.On 1st use, fine dust sticks to hands, feet & floor.
