Recently bought a telescope and discovered the finder scope was subpar and could not be collimated to the telescope so I bought a HUD optical finder with dovetail mount and ordered this base plate to hold the finder. Bolted up to existing holes. Rock solid. Finder fits like a glove and most importantly the finder is now collimated to the telescope allowing for fast acquisition of objects.

Fit my new finderscope with no problems. I was able to use the holes that the old finder put in the OT. I had it on 2 different scope using old holes.

I had purchased a similar base from a large online astronomy shop that didn't fit and then another from a major online photography store, neither of them fit and they said they would... The product itself has real attention to detail also in the machining of where the screws will rest once tightened. They actually cut out beyond the edge so the head of the screw will rest all the way down in a complete slot as it should. This detail was the reason the other two bases failed, they were poorly done. The only issue I had was the included screws did not fit but the 10-24x.75" size I needed was easy enough to get at the local hardware. I expect this to be a great summer and look forward to using this. My ASI AirPro in red is where the base is being used. Thank you for really caring about your customers.

Works perfectly for my spotting scope.

The base is nicely made. I have no idea where. It has no Made in stamp on product or packaging. It comes with two 10-32 mounting screws and nuts. The nuts are black to be non-reflective on the inside of the tube. The screws may be a bit short for some tubes. I mounted this on a 1/4" wall PVC. Because the screws would be too short to get to the inside of the tube to use the blackened nuts, I tapped the two holes. IfI was going to mount anything weighing more than a few ounces, this would be a bad idea. If you need to mount on a 1/4" thick or more tube, plan on buying some longer 10-32 screws.

The cheap finder on my Meade LS 8 broke, and this helped me with installing a new finder because the mount that came on the telescope wouldn't actually fit anything that I could find for sale.

Lastima que no indican las limitaciones de incompatibilidad de este adaptador, con algunos instrumentos. Por ejemplo si el equipo en que lo pretendía utilizar, solamente tiene un (1) tornillo de soporte. No hubo forma de acoplar.

Installed easily on my GT81 refractor using one of the supplied screws. Good fit and quality.

I used it to install a red dot finder. It is good quality but the price is a little high in my opinion

Installed easily and mounted Celestron 51635 Star Pointer to base with no issues. Good stable base.
