Same as other reviews but thought I'd take a chance. As soon as you close the valve water is forced through the quick connect threads.

Adapted for a garden pond and exactly what I expected. Good quality, replaces one which lasted outside in the open for about five years.

Two weeks after installing in my coffee machine, it stopped controlling the flow of water and left a massive puddle in my kitchen. Good thing we were home. May have been where the elbow connects to the main housing, there was only one way for me to install it and it may have been too loose for the o-ring to seal.

When I put it in the humidifer it off the water, but the float was so light it could not overcome the seal and never opened up. By extending the float was now heavy enough to work great. been working fine for a week now.

Don’t waste your money. The threading of this product does not allow for a water tight seal, and will consistently leak despite any attempts to stop it. The only option is covering it in silicone, which is not very safe if using it for animals, humans, or event plants.
