As part of increasing my understanding of the dissociative disorders, I decided to purchase this book - again on the recommendation of a colleague. I have found it a fascinating read. The content is fairly heavy and I found I could only read and digest small amounts at a time. It should be required reading for people working in the provision of psychotherapy/psychiatry, and I am sure that DID (although not unusual) is missed as a diagnosis frequently. Trauma would appear to be the common denominator in so many adult presentations, and I have found the book really helpful in differentiating its various presentations.
