Five months dead! -- seller responded with replacement
Update: 5/6/22 - Seller saw my review, reached out to me, after a few days I have a replacement unit. I'm bumping the stars to 5 to reflect sellers commitment to fixing issue. I'm hoping this replacement will last longer than 5 months. If it does break again, I'm hoping that I won't have any issues working with seller once more. Thanks Amy for the follow-up...*******I bought in November and used lightly. I should have known when that something more tragic would happen since back in December, it had already started acting up. It would not engaged when trying to shred anything but after disconnecting the power for at least an hour, it worked once again. This time around nothing! The green indicator light is on and it doesn't matter what I insert into the feeder and see the small lever engaging, the motor would not run. I contacted the vendor via Amazon but have not received any communication - VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! I had a more than a decade old EPS-6IIX and that still works! Save your money and buy something else, unless the maker of this product stands behind their warranty.

Seems like a durable choice so far
As an Amazon Vine reviewed product I received the VidaTeco 14-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder for testing for the purposes of providing an honest review. I've used it short term, and it's working well so far. The shredder can handle a maximum of 14 sheets at once, all documents were thoroughly destroyed in my use cases. It also shreds credit cards, CDs, and even junk mail without any hitches. I even tried shredding cardboard, and it managed to handle it reasonably well. The convenient 3-mode control switches (Auto, Off, Reverse) make the operation of this shredder simple and intuitive. The Auto start/stop and manual reverse functions came in handy, especially when I needed to clear minor paper jams. The 5 minutes shredding time coupled with a 30 minutes cooling cycle seemed adequate for my needs, and the overheat LED indicator was a thoughtful addition, ensuring safety during extended use.The 6.6-gallon basket capacity is easy to empty thanks to a transparent window that helps to see when it's full and a portable handle that makes the emptying process a breeze. Another bonus is that the shredder does not need any lubricants, which simplifies maintenance. Reliable customer service support and a user manual add to the overall value.Overall, the VidaTeco Shredder is proving to be an indispensable tool in my home office, and I appreciate its efficiency and ease of use. Its ability to shred cardboard was a pleasant surprise, and I find myself using it more and more. Whether you have personal or professional shredding needs, this machine is a solid choice.

Reversed by switch and easy to clear
I really love that this machine has an actual slide switch for the stop, auto and reverse features. I have have shredders in the pas with electronic buttons that always failed. This shredder is easy to clear. It shreds smoothly and is pretty quiet for a shredder. I have about two years of junk mail built up and this machine did very well with the job. I struggles a little bit with thick envelopes but will stop itself before it jams or over heats. A quick slide of the button to reverse will clear out the issue. I shredded for probably 45 mins before it over heated the first time, I waited until it cooled down and was easily able to finish my job. I was impressed with this shredders performance and capacity. The lid is easy to remove because there is a handle. The shredder heads kept themselves cleared out pretty well. I did not have issues with shredding cards or junk mail but it seems to struggle a bit with thicker envelopes, I had issues shredding my AEP bills because they are tri-folded papers and thicker. I would definitely recommend this for light shredding or daily shredding over large shredding jobs.

Not sturdy enough for office use
I have had this shredder for only 5 weeks. It is already popping and squealing when I try to shred 5 sheets of paper at a time. It won't last another month. I cannot shred junk mail without opening it and separating the sheets and doing them in one or two sheets at a time.

Larger shredder
Very easily usable, more sheets can shred at once. Reasonable noise, good value for price.

Hard working but short lived
I didn't actually take this shredder out of the box for a couple of months after receiving it, but when I did, it seemed to work pretty well. It chewed through stuff like a champ. I was impressed (still am, actually), but it just stopped working a few weeks ago. I think its time in service was just a bit over a year. It wasn't jammed and the light was on, but it just wouldn't go into chew mode anymore. It would run in reverse, oddly enough. It does seem like a bit of a short life, but I do give it some credit for being a good performer when it still had the will to live. I would put my use at a moderate level, so it's entirely possible this might last a lot longer with lighter use.
