Incredible machine
EDIT AFTER 8 GLORIOUS MONTHS: I still love it, but I'm moving apartments and choosing to sadly sell it. At my current apartment, I was able to place it in a bathroom that shared no walls with any neighbors, but in my next place I'll have a downstairs neighbor, and it's a little too loud for me to let it rumble with a neighbor below. It's quiet enough that it doesn't bother me here, but even after putting some cushioning beneath it it has a vibratory rumble and I'd still be uncomfortable running it on top of any neighbors (or even I think upstairs neighbors could hear it, ditto if it shares a wall). My new review is: I highly recommend it if you can put it in a room that shares no walls with a neighbor.FIRST POSTED 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE:I absolutely LOVE this machine but I have some tips/warnings.First off, why I love it: It cleans super well, it's easy to use, it has many washing options, and it's pretty quiet. I'm obviously over the moon to have a w/d in-unit now. It's also pretty in person. When you tap on it it's an aluminum sound, it doesn't feel cheap. It's bigger than I expected, which was a plus for me -- it can fit a surprisingly large amount, basically a normal sized load.Little Surprise #1: You can only use it with high efficiency detergent powder. The manual says it needs HE powder since it has anti-suds agents in it or something to combat an extremely fast spin? Turns out I really like HE powder though, I got one called Charlie's, it's great.Big Surprise #2: Installation was tricky. Many of my water sources were incompatible (bathroom sink faucet, bathtub spout). The kitchen sink worked with the included "Quick Connector" for a bit, but then it randomly broke. I had to teach myself basic plumbing (I started knowing ZERO) to hook it up, and I'm certainly no expert but I hope this helps someone else:The tube that connects to the back of the washer is a 3/4" FHT on both sides. Any piping starting with M = "Male" = threading is on the outside; F = "Female" with the threading on the inside. So where the water enters the washer is a 3/4" MHT (M's and F's join together). The HT stands for Hose Thread, it's the same as garden hose threading.I wanted to divert water from under my bathroom sink, but I didn't want to have to leave the washer in there 100% of the time, so I wanted a splitter that can independently shut off the water sources. The Y valve I found was in Home Depot's garden hose section. It has a 3/4" FHT inlet and two 3/4" MHT for water flow out. The bathroom sink cold water line I interfered with was a 1/2" MIP out of the wall and 1/2" FIP tube (which seems standard for bathrooms but I don't know). So it was 1/2" MIP out of the wall, I connected that to the splitter with a 1/2" FIP to 3/4" MHT adapter. The splitter branches into two 3/4" MHT openings. I connected it to the 1/2" FIP bathroom sink cold water line via a 3/4" FHT to 1/2" MIP adapter. The 3/4" FHT washer tube connected perfectly to the splitter.I got these parts from Home Depot:"Everbilt 3/4 in. FHT x 1/2 in. MIP Brass Adapter Fitting""Everbilt 3/4 in. MHT x 1/2 in. FIP Brass Adapter Fitting""Melnor 2.76 in. Metal Y Connector""Everbilt 3/4 in FHT x 3/4 in FHT Rubber Washing Machine Hose 6 Ft"I also used pipe tape, pipe dope (to really make sure it didn't leak), and needed a wrench/pliers.Big Surprise #3: When I was struggling to install it, I learned there seemingly is no customer service support. The manual includes a "how to solve your own problem" section (“Before calling customer service, try troubleshooting”) but it doesn’t provide any contact information. It’s as if the company Helohome doesn’t exist online either. So when something went wrong, I was on my own. I'm glad I got the warranty (it's cheap) in case it didn't work. But yeah, I literally didn't even know that pipe tape goes on the threads when I bought this machine. All of my plumbing advice comes with a huge disclaimer that I'm not a plumber. If you're going to go for it like I did, obviously turn off the water source and put a bucket underneath when you're messing with your pipes. It was fairly intimidating but now I have the machine of my dreams!Little Surprise #4: I had to buy a dolly to move it since it's very heavy. So my added expenses have been HE powder, dolly, and the plumbing parts (a longer 3/4" FHT hose, a garden hose splitter, a 1/2" MIP to 3/4" FHT, and a 1/2" FIP to 3/4" MHT). Still cheaper than a laundromat!Anyways, so I love it but it was my little Everest for a minute there. I still really suggest buying it! Hope you're able to just happily use the Quick Connector piece they include! If so, the water hookup is pretty easy! And it's a good call to read the manual too -- stuff like not to fill it over 2/3, don't put stuff on top of it, etc.

Awesome for the Apartment
Wow, its been 4 years since I have had an In Unit washer, and this one fits the ticket. We are a family of 3, and had to use the washer dryer set that is shared in our building. To many time other people will remove our clothes (when they are still wet) just to use the dryer, and we had enough.I have some plumbing experience, so I split the water line into the bathroom sink to the washer hook ups. This gave me both hot and cold from the main supply. We dis run the first few loads from the faucet connector, and it worked beautifully. The only downside was we lost the use of our only bathroom sink. This is what led us to make the pipes connect to both.I have ran towels, sheets, kid clothes covered in mud, normal family type items in the washer and it is great. Our comforters wont fit, but if that is the only thing in a normal house I am thrilled. It is super quiet if you make sure to balance your load, and it spin drys very well. We also got a folding drying rack (here on Amazon) and between the two items were running the system just as often as a regular unit.If you have a size constraint, or are using this for a small family, this is a great investment. 5 stars for the unit. (Just note it can be tight moving it into place, but once its there its easy to level and operate)

Excellent portable washing machine
After thoroughly researching and reading product reviews for just about every portable washing machine and the different brands available, and considering our small space for laundry, our needs (2 of us), and our budget, we purchased this Helohome 1.6 cu. ft. machine. It arrived early via UPS, and is super easy to set up and use. Just follow the instructions carefully. I didn't even have to do any additional leveling. All the hoses I needed were included. We did purchase a small appliance dolly separately because we have to move the washing machine frequently, and that was a good investment. The two small wheels on the machine itself allow you to tilt it (to put on the bottom piece and screw it in before first use) and roll it, but the dolly allows for much easier 360 degree rolling. It says it washes 11 lbs. What that looks like when I am using the machine is a small/regular-sized laundry basket that is full of clothes BUT not packed down tightly and not mounded up or overflowing. It seems like a large load in this machine is equivalent to a small load in my normal-size washing machine. I use one Gain pod directly in the machine, NOT in the detergent dispenser drawer. The clothes are very clean and come out slightly less wet than when using my normal-size washing machine. I am pleased with the spin capability. It is much quieter and washes more quickly than I expected. I am so pleased with this little machine and am glad we chose it!
