I use these to pull a loose outlet box back into position on the wall surface. lastic ones would have broke/cracked. Cheap fix.

The plastic outlet covers in my apartment would break whenever I tried to plug things in, and then the outlet would push inside the wall. It looks bad, can prevent pulgs from getting plugged in all the way and can be a safety hazard. These out let covers are very sturdy, install in seconds and actually look pretty good.I will be buying more.

I was sick of the cheap plastic wall plates that would always deform and end up leaving gaps around the outlet that lets drafts and insects in. I installed these with some outlets insulators and they are heavy duty and fit nice and tight to the wall.

The hardware stores only sell the plastic ones that crack immediately at the screw hole. Or, they sell the textured paintable ones that are ivory in color. These are perfect for what i want, they're metal so they don't crack. They're painted semi-gloss white. My only complaint is that the plates were sleeved individually and the three screws were package in a small bag with one of the plates. It would have been better for one screw and one plate to be packaged together.

I had more than a few receptacles in the house that were starting to recede into the wall because the Leviton receptacle lips are short and don't reach onto enough drywall to make a solid contact. As a result, plastic faceplates were cracking and receptacles were wobbly. Cracked faceplates are are ugly: they are a safety hazard, especially with toddlers around that like to stick utensils into cracks. I'm replacing all duplex faceplates in the house with these steel ones, which make for a much sturdier and safer installation. The receptacles are kept firmly in place and I know they won't crack. I recommend these faceplates to everybody.

nice tapered edges give outlets a more.. streamlined? look. They seem to be pretty sturdy, but they're outlet covers, so how much abuse are they really ever going to see? Definitely worth the price for what they are.

they are very nice but hang onto the little screw from your old plate. It does not come with screws
