There is none like it!
I constantly use multiple versions of the Bible in parallel but none do I trust as much as the Recovery version. Very loyal to the original text with additional footnotes which provide explanation for the choice of words. May the Lord remember all those who have laboured extensively in providing such a rich supply of inspiration

Holy Bible Recovery Version (contains footnotes)
This Bible Version is the most excellent, useful and rewarding Bible Version I have ever come across. It is not for the religious ones; it is for the seekers and lovers of the True God in Jesus Christ. The outlines are very clear and explain the content of each book. The footnotes are full of meaning and constitute a great aid to understand the meaning in context. The cross references help to understand and to trace to verses not only in context but also to keep the reading according the principle of the central line of the Bible - Christ as Life to dispense Himself into His believers for the building of the Church, the house of the Living God.In John 5.24 Jesus said " Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment but has passed out of death into life." This Bible Version is a great aid to hear the word and to believe Him who sent Me (Jesus Christ). This Bible Version is for those who want to pass from death (spiritual death) to Life (the Eternal Life). The Kindle version is very clear and bright, easy to handle any where or in any position.

A Great Study Bible
The Recovery Version is a great translation of the bible but more particularly an excellent translation for bible study on account of its very extensive footnotes which, for me, make it one of the best study bibles/ commentaries available. The RV apparently distills the substance of many former commentaries and builds on them. It has been criticized by some for borrowing or even plagiarizing the observations of others. I think that's a matter of opinion based on how precious you want to be towards individual commentaries - not every thought may be perfectly "original" but then it doesn't purport to be; "there is nothing new under the sun". As far as I'm concerned, I just want greater insight into what the bible says and to that extent, I find the R.V. a very useful tool whenever I want to look at a passage in detail. Is it "THE best version"? Who cares! It provides great food for thought when used as a tool for seeking the truth of God's Word for your self alongside the contrasting facets and nuances rendered by other versions. At the end of the day, we all need the Holy Spirit to interpret and help us dig the gold out of the rocks if we're really going to be enlightened but in my opinion, this book is a great catalyst. The book works very well on kindle devices themselves (although the latest update of the kindle for android app renders this title and many other reference materials virtually useless for that medium) because of its instant accessibility to that rich treasury of footnotes and insights via the fully functioning links on an actual kindle (cf android since end of April 2013)..In this context the R.V. for kindle is also superb value compared to the cost of buying a paper version being about an eighth of the price!

Purchased for download to tablet
I've used the Holy Bible Recovery Version for several years now, and I wanted to see if I could download a copy on to my tablet for easy access. The only downside is that it doesn't have any study notes, which are so rich and inspire the reader to love the pure Word of God. Perhaps Amazon can look into making available the Recovery Version with study notes?

The best study Bible I have ever read!
This is a wonderful study Bible. Nowhere else can you find such extensive footnotes explaining the important and difficult passages in the Scriptures so clearly. I have been using a paper copy of this study Bible for a number of years now and it has been a source of much light and revelation to me. What I appreciate the most is that the footnotes use the Bible to interpret the Bible. They direct the reader to other passages in the Word that open up what one is reading. Tremendous help to me! If you have questions about the Bible that no one has been able to answer so far, this is the study Bible for you!

A Faithful Translation
This is a good and faithful translation of the Bible, clearing up a lot of confusions which have occurred due to less faithful translations. It's clear, it's enjoyable and worth purchasing. It's my main Bible. I do, however, wish it came with the footnotes like the iSilo version.

An Excellent translation
The recovery version is an excellent translation of the Bible that is literal based according to the text of Hebrew and Greek and uses modern english. In many ways similiar to both the American Standard Version and the English Standard Version of the Bible. I own many translations of the Bible, but I find this one as the most helpful. My only real complaint as somone else mentioned is that there are no footnotes available on the Kindle.
