Beautiful patterns
This booklet is inspiring! It includes several afghan patterns which are not hard to follow. I have not had time to do any projects in this book but it seems the directions are very clear and the pictures are beautiful. I am sure I will enjoy doing some projects from this book.I gave four stars only because the book arrived a bit late.

Pleased
I think this is a good pattern book to have but these afghans take one heck of a lot of yarn. The patterns are not hard to follow but as an experienced crocheter, I would not recommend them for beginners. I started one of the afghans but chose a different pattern because the suggested one was just too cumbersome to continue with and didn't look as smooth and pretty as the picture. I find that crocheted Aran stitches are way more better than knitted ones for afghans, so this book is a keeper!

Good but for those with crochet experience.
While I love the afghans in the book, I'm finding the instructions a little hard to decipher. I haven't yet done more than finish my stitch gauge so I'll need to update this review when I'm actually working the piece. All may become clear when I'm actually doing the work. Please note: this book specifies that it's intended for those with "intermediate and advanced" crochet experience.

No Granny Squares here!!!
I hadn't crocheted in years, and had the yearn, but wanted to find something "different". The Aran stitched provided enough interest visually, so I thought I'd give it a try. This book presents each stitch clearly. The directions are simple with all terms defined. It may be too tough for a "very beginner", but as long as you can understand instructions, it is not difficult to follow! The outcomes actually look like the photos. Needle, yarn weight (I did not use the recommended brand), and gauge are spot on! I f you want something crocheted that doesn't look like normal crochet or the Granny Squares of the 70's, the Aran stitches offer a wonderful alternative!!!

Beautiful patterns
has good illustrations for the specific stitches in the afghan I wanted to make. The cover shows only one of the patterns. The back cover shows another sampler afghan. Most of these patterns are for intermediate or experienced chrocheters. I like that they included the color numbers and that they used Red Heart yarns which is easily available

Afghans
I love to crochet and knit; this pattern tugged at my heart when I saw it. I need to complete some Christmas presents and then I am going to start one of these afghans! I can't wait. The used pattern book was in such good shape, I would not have known it was used! Every book or leaflet I have ever ordered through Amazon.com have been in excellent condition.

Good directions
Very well written directions.Liked how the rows were worked, the same stitch across the afghan.1/3 done with my first and will be making another.

Better off with YouTube
This is a very short book and I expected more - this is my fault for not thoroughly reading the description. This is a sampler , but I fell in love with her Celtic Weave pattern which I thought would be in here. It is (sort of) but you're better off just watching the YouTube video. The written instructions aren't very helpful.

Although it is only 4 crochet afghans. I made one, that used some pattern panels from 2 different afghans to make a one of a kind baby afghan.

great pattern book
I have been crocheting for a very long time now. I like to crochet afghans because they do not look as though they have a right side and a wrong side, both sides look good/. Aran designs add an elegance to the afghan. This pattern book combines these elements. I expect to be using several of the patterns .

The texture in Bonnie's designs is beautiful. Each afghan had a unique combination of textured post aran stitches. The patterns are all at an intermediate level. If you don't understand how some of the stitches are worked, she has How-to videos on her website (http://www.bonniebay.com/) that teach you. If you still have a question about her designs, you can contact Bonnie via her website and she will gladly help you.

A Crochet Pattern Book where your end result looks as professional as the photos in the book.
I have nearly finished my first Afghan blanket - the Tan Sampler. It is looking fantastic, did it in a mustard colour. Bonnie Barker's patterns are very easy to understand and lots of diagrams of the stitches used. Being left-handed I found her UTube tutorials for lefties so very helpful. Wish UTube had been around when I taught myself to crochet many moons ago! Already planning on the next project - The one on front cover.

This is a very good book. I am not an experienced crocheter but decided to have a go at one of the lovely patterns and by following the instructions bit by bit I am really pleased with myself to see the pattern emerging.I feel very inspired to move on to another pattern and even try and mix and match some of the patterns.I would certainly recommend this book to all abilities.
