I love this classroom tool! I use this in my high school English class as a way to keep the students on their toes. I got so overwhelmed feeling like I had to give everything a grade, but the students don't typically do an assignment if they know it's not for a grade. Now I have minor "spin for a grade" assignments. I mark the wheel as Legitimate Grade, Participation Grade, Extra Credit, & No Grade. We don't spin until everyone turns in their assignment. Students are motivated to complete the assignment to the best of their abilities b/c they don't know how I'm going to grade it. Bonus: they get so excited to spin. It's like a game show in my classroom. The only negative I have is that the magnet is not strong enough to hang on my dry erase board. It does, however, stick to the side of my desk which works just as well. I also don't know that I'd consider the panels to be dry erase b/c it's not easy to get the marker off. Again, this is not a problem since I don't need to change the categories on a regular basis.

I have been using this for about 3 months now. It has held up well with daily classroom use. I had read reviews before purchasing and agree with all of those who say it is not dry erase ready. Once I saw the cardboard inserts, I could tell they would not last long unless they were laminated, so I laminated them before using them. The magnet backing is strong enough to stay in place while 2nd and 3rd grade students spin it. Occasionally the spinning wheel comes off and will not spin properly, I push in the center, and it pops back in place. The students enjoy taking turns spinning the wheel, reading the space it landed on, and answering the question. I debated purchasing it because of the cost, but I am pleased with the purchase and would buy it again.

I thought that it might be helpful to share my experience with this spinning wheel given the varied reviews. I am always a little hesitant to purchase when I read similar product review issue but I was in need of a carnival type spinning wheel for an upcoming family get together and this one seemed to fit the bill at a reasonable price so I gave it a shot. I have to say that I experienced none of the issues that some of the other reviewers reported. The magnets are strong enough to hold the wheel securely on our metal door (although I can not comment on whether it would hold on a white board). More importantly, the wheel makes multiple revolutions with a simple flick of the wrist (no stiffness as reported by many others). This seemed to be the biggest complaint and the one I was most concerned about.All-in-all I am quite happy with this purchase as it does exactly what I was expecting a spinning wheel to do and is perfect for my gaming application. I can obviously only speak for the unit I received but if you are looking for a decent sized carnival type spinning wheel for a group function I believe that you will be quite satisfied with this product.

The size is good. Comes with different inserts very interchangeable. Magnets are top notch STRONG. I didn't have a write-on board to use with it but I did have a metal room divider that it works perfectly with and could be raised higher or lower on the divider depending on the height of the person using it. Spins with no problem, just make sure you put a little muscle into it. I used it for mainly adults at an Open House for my massage business to give away prizes. It was a fun attraction. Like the fact that it is wipeable so you can put whatever you want on it and reuse. I would have preferred one that set on a table but this one has no chance of tipping over or falling off a table. Once you place it on a metal surface it's not going anywhere!

Very disappointed about the magnet. It does NOT hold the product. I bought it for my classroom to use on my white board. For the price you would think their magnets were better quality.

This product is great! It comes with 3 different two-sided inserts with 6 different sized division splits that you can write on/wipe off with an Expo. The wheel turns easily. The magnet is strong enough to keep it still (unless some really aggressive kid goes bonkers with it). The click that it makes as it spins makes it seem like you are spinning a LEGIT game show wheel. It was well worth the money!

I use this spinner every Friday with a particular difficult class of 6th graders and it's holding up well. I don't keep it hanging on my board all week; I just fill out the triangles during my prep with awards kiddoes can win, then pop it up on the board at the beginning of the period. I have my students who have been picked spin the wheel, and have to hold it when they do; otherwise, it will move. But, it spins nicely and lands on something they get very excited about, and I love it.

This is a well made spinner and I have been using it in my classroom. Be sure to have a metal blackboard as it is magnetized and is supposed to sit on the blackboard. I hold mine up because I don;t have one.

It is so heavy the magnets do not stop it slipping down a whiteboard. I will have to buy and glue on stronger magnets myself
