ConservcoDSL-2 Hose Bibb Lock

Simply does not work
I bought this because I'm pretty certain my jerk of a neighbor stole water to the tune of about $300. Simple item, just screw tight what is essentially a cap, stopping all water flow. Then place a solid metal cover over the cap with the lock portion from the cap sticking through. Took a whole two minutes to install on a normal water spigot.I didn't use the supplied lock as it felt pretty cheap and the Master combo lock I have fit just fine. Moving on.Once my put my own lock on, I tried to loosen the cap by turning the lock. At first the lock would just spin the mechanism as it was designed, but as soon as I put some pressure (either toward or away from the spigot) on the lock, I was able to spin the cap right off, still locked. 100% failure.I immediately tried to return this, but for some reason I wasn't able to. Amazon helped me out and gave me a full refund right away, so no issue at all. I wish I would have done a video of this, but once I thought of it I had already thrown the bib lock away.Do not buy this item. I ended up with a gate valve lockout, which works just fine and is the picture I added.

Water Stealers Hate This
This thing works as described. The brass connector has a washer inside of it and you simply screw it onto your hose bib. The washer prevents leaks if someone attempts to turn on your faucet while this is connected. After screwing on the brass fitting, simply slide the silver housing over it and attach the lock at the bottom. I will say that at one point, the key wasn't working to unlock it for some reason. It was like the lock was jammed or something but it eventually worked. This only happened once.I get lots of feedback from neighbors on this on what a great idea it is. We are in a new neighborhood and with all the construction, we had alot of people just walking up to use our water without asking. So we locked them out with this lock!! It's funny to see their reactions on my cameras when they discover they can't steal water anymore!

Worth the Money Paid
I bought this b/c my neighbor was using my house closest to his side of the house to pressure wash his home and driveway. So i wanted to put a stop to it in the most passive aggressive way possible. I bought this Bib Lock and installed it and haven't had any issues since. I was so easy to install, it works like a charm, and my neighbor got the message and hasn't touch my faucet since. It does exactly what I needed it for. I have no issues with leaks and no issues with taking it off and putting it back on when i need to use my faucet.

Protect your water supply from theft
This was my second choice. The style that covered the whole hose bib didn't fit my faucet. For this one there is no issue. It's solid brass, goes one easily without tools and locks with the little padlock that was supplied. It's a little trickier to unfasten to use the faucet than the one I bought previously. Takes two hands. But it's not hard and if the threads don't get limed up in my water it should be good forever. My only caveat is if you are trying to get children or others to not turn on the water, this won't do it. The lock prevents the attachment of a hose but does not seal the faucet shut. I expect that turning on the water will have drip and squirts everywhere. I haven't tried that tho'

The lock included looked nothing like this and was the cheapest "made in China" lock ...
Buy the Hose Bibb Lock separately instead of the one that comes with the lock. The lock included looked nothing like this and was the cheapest "made in China" lock I've ever seen. The lock included looked like it could be broken by hand. Buy a better lock separately. These Hose Bibb Locks are excellent deterrents. Anyone who wants to get your water can still cut the lock if they want to, but this removes easy theft.I take the time to review my purchases because I know I rely on these reviews myself when I make purchases blindly on Amazon. I hope you have found my review helpful.

Nice Product, But CHEAP Lock
I had ordered 3 others of this hose bib lock earlier without the padlocks and they work wonderfully and are easy to install. I needed 1 more and really didn't pay attention to this single one came with a padlock. I am very glad I was not going to rely on this padlock for security. It is cheap PLASTIC and would provide no protection except from the least enthused thief in the world. Uh, no thanks. I am glad that I had the 4th padlock from the Master locks set, which are all keyed the same, to use with this bib lock. Nice product, but keep the cheap lock.

Protect your water!
I purchased this to protect my outward-facing water spigot as I live on a corner lot along a green belt. After closing on my house I noticed that workers building an adjacent home were using my water! I applied this hose bib lock with ease and voila, no more unauthorized access to my water. I tested the device against sabotage (opening the spigot all the way with the lock attached) and after a small initial spurt of residual water, there was no water leakage around the lock. I highly recommend this lock if you've got an easily accessible spigot that needs protection.

Just what I needed, solved my problem
These hose bib locks are just perfect for me. They are small and unobtrusive, yet do exactly as advertised. My water bills run around $150 during the hot Houston summers. Last July, my bill was $270. I have 3 exterior faucets, 1 in my fenced backyard, 1 on the left side of my house by my driveway, and 1 on the right side of my house by my neighbors driveway. I have no idea who used which side faucet (it definitely wasn't my neighbor), but that clinched it for me. I knew that someone was using my water (hoses unhooked, sprayers detached, hoses unwound, etc.), but this took the cake. So I bought these for the 2 side faucets and problem solved. They are not massively sturdy, but it would take a lot to cut through them. I like the simplicity of use and the small size. If you don't used them for a few months, trying to get the key in and turned can be "sticky", so I just spray a little Teflon in them and keep them lubricated.
