The mower runs now.
It work’s good but the choke plate binds a little when it’s closed. It may be adjustable but I didn’t bother. I just use my finger to open it back up.

Worked great!
Easy install. Only problem I had was not the fault of the carb, but of the plastic intake manifold on the B&S engine, which had a warped flange (common problem as I discovered). If that happens to you, a fuel resistant gasket maker like Motoseal will solve the problem. No install instructions so if this is your first time be sure to take pictures of the old carb since the metal gasket that goes between the fiber gaskets needs to be oriented correctly. Also, as per a great installation youtube video by TakeABath's channel, the long stud bolts that hold it together have male star drive ends - but a 1/4 inch socket will work on them, so no need to buy a female star driver.

Replacing junk carburetor
Unlike the last one I purchased from Amazon this one works great right out of the box, no adjustment needed.

Part number is correct, this really is a drop-in replacement.
StorytimeI go down to my local Briggs & Stratton dealer with a grubby carburetor in hand hoping they can at least rebuild it or sell me a new one. I hand it to him, he looks up the part number; which is the same part number as listed in this product, and he shakes his head with a frown."Sorry sir, but you're looking at a 200 dollar replacement."Two-hundred dollars, for a Carburetor that goes in a riding mower engine.I take out my phone, and put the same part number into Amazon. This store page pops up. Thirty-two dollars, free shipping!"Hey, why is this one only thirty dollars, then?" I ask."Ohh, that's an aftermarket carb. You can't trust those, they'll fail after a year." He shakes his head. For thirty two dollars with free shipping, I'll take my chances. One week later this carburetor arrived, and it was a drop-in replacement for the one that had failed. Mower started up, runs great, 5/5 stars. Thank you for saving me 168 dollars. The best part, even the rebuild kit from the dealer which is just the o-rings and gaskets, was 40 dollars. It cost me less to buy this carb than it would have to take the old-one apart and painstakingly replace every piece of rubber in the thing.
