Chamberlain is a quality garage door opener
Excellent Chamberlain chain garage door opener! Installation takes a few hours on a lazy rainy weekend. The entire kit was shipped complete for installation. The only items that were required was a perforated rail available at most hardware stores to mount the unit to the garage ceiling joists. Do not install this to a drywall or you will be doing the entire installation again and the unit might fall from the ceiling. Only install on the most stable joists available. I actually reinforced it with bolts to avoid any issues in the future. The manual that comes with it is very thorough and explains the install process every step of the way. Like most people complaining about the one remote they only give with this unit, you can buy additional ones online - in other words not a big deal. For the price and value, I'm very satisfied and happy :)

Successful installation and smooth operation
Very happy with this replacement for a 20+ year old Crawford Garage Door Opener. Everything needed for installation (except tools) was included in the box. Took awhile for the mechanism to "learn" the coding for the opener and keypad (purchased separately). Eventually called customer service, was told the instruction sheet was outdated for this model. But they provided the needed information and we were good to go. I was concerned that the one-half horsepower would be too strong for the door (the Crawford was one-third) but it is opening and closing the door smoothly and quietly. Hope it lasts another 20 years.

Quiet
Bought extensions for 10ft door, still smooth operation. Not enough wire for oversized doors

Great product but consider NOT using a staple gun for wire attachment.
This is a well-engineered product for a good price. In addition, Chamberlain customer support is fabulous. I called them late on a Saturday afternoon and spoke with a young lady to led me through the troubleshooting steps needed to diagnose my problem. She stayed on the phone the entire time while I made several different adjustments. Hat tip to Chamberlain CS!! I will describe what the problem was so that maybe you won't make the same mistake as me. I used an Arrow staple gun with 1/4" staples to secure the safety sensor wires to the wall and ceiling. The wire insulation is so thin that the staple shorted the wire, making the sensors inoperative. Once I replaced the wire with bell wire that I purchased at the local big box store (and used wire specific tacks that you attach with a hammer), everything was wonderful in garageland. Yes, the product comes with staples but I found them tremendously oversized and the "shield" that is supposed to protect the wire is super-flimsy plastic. But the bad staples are not enough of a reason to take off a star.

Very easy to install
So far so good a month in! The unit is a little noisier than our old Overhead Door, but I don't mind. It doesn't come with an outside mountable door opener which is strange. We don't use our keys anymore because we'd just come through the garage, so that's been tricky. No one has had to climb through a window yet, but I can see that coming.

We've had this installed about a year. Perfect
Had to replace our old unit that had an electrical fault. The old one caused the rails to shock people - took a while to figure that part out. But This unit is nice and quiet, smooth and seems to be accurate enough for us. Took me maybe 3 hours to install on my own. Had to do a bit of reconfiguring from the old unit space (had to hang this one differently than the 15 year old unit. But still not a bad time. If I hadn't had to build some new supports to mount the unit (the garage is 80 years old so things are not quite like a modern build garage) I'd have been done in about 1.5 hours. Really satisfied.

Love this! Packaging was very nice
Love this! Packaging was very nice. We just bought a house that had a previous garage door opener installed but when motor didn't work. Only thing different about this was I had to widen the mount for the ceiling, which was only moving two bolts. Also this opens opposite from the direction the old one did so I had to move the carriage to the other side. The old one up was clockwise, this unit up is counterclockwise. Again it isn't too difficult. Overall I'm very pleased with the product. Good quiet smooth operation. Only flaw is the sensors are sensitive to sunlight. So sometimes the door won't shut just by clicking it once. You have to hold it till it shuts completely to override the safety. But all in all I'm very happy about the product and I would recommend it
