Emotional read
I loved this book as it truly showed a reflection of every mother’s feeling. I could read over and over again and feel better because I felt my feelings were validated. Great book for any mum & would make a lovely gift too.

A friend in arms for all mothers
Emma’s poems about the ups and downs of motherhood inspire and help A LOT while being a first or a second time mom. They make you feel more understood and basically not “theonlymiserablemomwhodoesntsleepinthisworld”. Feeling seen and less lonely. She writes about motherhood but in the way rarely who does. About the stuff that most of the moms are still ashamed to talk about. Because we don’t want to hear why are we complaining, questioned If we regret having children or labeled ungrateful because we have healthy kids which we wished and planned for and that’s all that matters. In a nutshell she writes about the mental joy and mental load of motherhood. And I just love how she talks about hard and shitty moments but then she always manages to change the perspective on the positive side without! letting you feel guilty for feeling down in the first place. In the seventeen chapters, she addresses the journey of pregnancy and postpartum, newborn phase, toddler phase, expecting a second baby, mothering a baby and a toddler at the same time, pregnancy loss, strained relationship and so much more.I warmly and highly recommend it to all the mothers out there. It is like medicine for your troubled mind and a dear “friend in arms” on your bookshelf.

Sparked my memories
After seeing the poems on tik tok, I had to get the book.I was sad I couldn’t remember much of my maternity leave with my twins, I was upset that it was all a blur. I’ve started reading this and all the simple memories came flooding back and I couldn’t be more thankful, it really is a beautiful book and definitely one I would give as a gift to a new mum.

A must have for anyone negotiating the whirlwind of motherhood
I saw one, small extract from this book on social media and it stopped me in my tracks, I dropped whatever I was doing and ordered it. When it arrived, I read through each page and could not believe how raw and relatable and vulnerable and honest every single word was. As a brand new Mum, it made me feel seen - and seen is not something that new mums in the pits of sleep deprivation and cluster feeding feel very often

Fabulous, real insight to the perfectly imperfect world of parenthood
If you want a real, raw, relatable insight into the world of parenthood this is the books for you. In so many ways Emma manages to put into words the emotions and feelings surrounding becoming/being a mother. This book made me cry, laugh, feel understood and picked me up in moments of my own perceived parenting failure. Thank you Emma for putting into words what motherhood feels like.
