A decade in the making HEA for friends to lovers Holt & Brax
***4 Stars***“And again over a decade later, recognizing the trust and desire for what it was, built over countless conversations, messages, and moments in each other’s company. Love. Love he couldn’t let slip through his fingers again.”Sighhh. Those two. Holt and Brax's love story rounds out the series. And what a love story it was. One that was over a decade in the making. One that was built on friendship and pining and second chances. And adrenaline because ohmygah.Their story was a little calmer/quieter than I expected, for the most part (because at one point it was definitely not calm and quiet. Lawd.) And I'm not going to lie I kind of wanted that pushing away angsty period to last a little longer. Omg this series has changed me because yes I wanted them to suffer in their feelings a little longer lol. I wanted to delve more into the glimpses of angst We got to see in the previous books. We get Holt and Brax's history and their now. And at the beginning I was soooo antsy to get to the now to get to that delicious angst between the two but I really appreciated getting their whole story. Getting to see their love cemented in real time and the feeeeeels they carried for a lifetime. What they are to each other and why their building a future together is so important. And the sweetest ending. And Lily who is adorable And hilarious. And I am absolutely just going to go around shouting "yes" "no" And " more" And that's it. Thank you very much. And oh no. I fell in love with more characters (hello Marsh & Fletcher and extra love for Scotty) and now I need to know what these spin offs are going to be and who is getting a book with who. Neeeeed.

Amazing Close To The Fog City Series
Phew...wow...just...well that was THE most deliciously perfect slow burn romance set against backdrops of military life and the thriller investigation into wher the current threat against the Madigan family's coming from.I've been patiently waiting for Holt Madigan to get his HEA for a long time. There'd been an increasing number of hints that Braxton Kane, SF Chief of Police, would be the man, but I had no idea that this would be the book I needed it to be to round off the Fog City series, which absolutely needs to be read in order. It starts 14 years ago with Brax greeting Holt and the rest of the intake of new soldiers off the transport at Camp Casey. There are some wonderful bonding moments, borne of both the ties that bind together brothers in service, and more personal foundations. The descriptions of how that bond develops over the years, then how it morphs into something more are simply perfect - these men are the epitome of 'meant to be' for me.On top of the highly emotional romance elements in Silent Knight, there is of course an ongoing suspense story to bring to its conclusion. There's plenty of pacy action, support from some familiar faces and maybe even (please, please, please!) the tiniest of glimpses at what could come next. The themes explored include family, trust and betrayal, 'stronger together'. Ultimately, this is great way to wrap up the Fog City thriller arc, but it's the beautiful age gap, perfect-for-each other romance that's been such a long time in coming that makes this book an easy 5* rating for me.An ARC was provided by GRR. This is my honest review.

Great end to the series
Whilst i loved Hawkes and Chris in the first 3 books, Holt and Brax was such an emotional rollercoaster and I can’t remember how many times I was brought to tears in the first 30% of the book. As this was a continuation of the storyline in the previous books, eventually it moved back to San Francisco and It was nice to catch up with the other mcs from previous books especially Lilly. Great end to the series really enjoyed it.

Action packed and romance
This is fifth book in the Fog City series.Holt and Brax have both featured in the previous books but now it’s time for their story. Holt and Brax have known each other forever as they first met in the military. Holt now works with the family and Brax is police chief. Brax has always loved Holt but couldn’t do anything about it when they were in the military, then Holt was happily married and now because he is police chief. Holt doesn’t understand why Brax his best friend has become distant but when Brax’s life and career are put at risk, Holt won’t stop at nothing to help him. As they spend more time together Holt realises Brax is more than just a friend. Can Holt and Brax get out alive and get their happy ending.I liked both Holt and Brax when they first featured in the book but didn’t think as them as a pairing as Holt was happily married until his marriage ended and it was hinted that there was more to their relationship than just friends. I was then waiting for their book to be written. At the start of the book Holt and Brax’s relationship isn’t great. Brax has been pushing Holt away as he is under pressure in work and he doesn’t know what to do about his feelings for Holt. Holt and Madigans won’t let Brax get away with pushing them away and I loved them for it. Sometimes you just need that support in life and the Madigans are certainly there for Brax.Holt and Brax are soulmates. They are meant to be. Some people are meant for one person and it seems like this is true for Holt and Brax.I also liked Holt’s ex wasn't awful. She had made major mistakes in the previous books but did try and make up for them throughout the book. She was also of supportive of their relationship. It was nice to see an ex who was supportive instead of trying to cause trouble.Of course we have plenty of action in the book and the Madigan‘s and the Perry family make a great team and a great family. Mel makes a cameo apperance at the end of the book, ne of my favourite characters from Layla Reyne books makeI’m guessing we are going to get a spin off featuring one of the characters that has featured in this series and I look forward to reading it.I received a ARC from Netgalley and Valentine PR & Literary Management for an objection.
