Christmas Concertina

Gave it to my concertina student. She loved it

Not everything I want, but contains at least a good handful of the Christmas songs you're most familiar with. 4/5 stars. Worth the price if you're pulling out your hair trying to find decent sheet music for the concertina. And not just sheet music, but also presents a fingering system on each page above and below the ledger lines. So you don't even need to be able to read sheet music to get use out of this book.

The nice thing about Christmas music is that you know what the tune is supposed to sound like. Therefore, it's easy to know if you are playing it correctly. I am a rank (emphasis on rank) beginner so this is important to me. Furthermore, Christmas music tends to be easy, which is also a big plus.

The arrangements are fairly simple to learn. About 2/3 of the songs are familiar to Americans. The titles that aren't familiar to Americans are probably British (based on the wording of the titles). Not bad for the price.

The music is meant for larger Concertina's than what I own. I can still utilize most of the songs with my 20 button instrument.

I love this book. Still quite early days with the concertina, but this allowed me to get a few Christmas songs going. Will continue to practice ready for next Christmas as I really like the arrangements to give a lovely full sound.

A great book for anglo players. Every christmas song you could possibly want, including the favourite traditional English ones, all beautifully arranged with the tune carried in the right hand and chords in the left. The notation is brilliant, in fact Mr Coover is the only person I have encountered who has found a way to represent the push and pull on the bellows that is effortlessly readable. Videos on you tube help with technique and also help choose which tune to learn next from the surfeit of treats. A lot of fun to be had, highly recommended.

The Good news is I'm in lockdown so plenty of time to practice.The bad news is I'm going to need it!

Superb concertina tutor , great tunes, easy to understand tablature and YouTube videos. Definitely worth every penny.
