I did have a bit of trouble inserting the batteries, just awkward to do the base up. Once in and lit, it was brilliant.

The lamp looks OK, no more than OK, in fact the body of the lamp looks like it was the millionth out of the mould, but the real downer is trying to get the base / battery cap back on, it's very difficult to get the cap lined up with the base, if you have nothing better to do than spend ages playing about with it, then go for it, but, there's better lamps with better designs than this one, and just to add to the agony, the lamp takes D cells, they are difficult to come by, quite expensive, more so in rechargeables, I decided to "sleeve" AA cells and that works well, until I have to get the cap lines up.All in all I'd give the lamp a 1 Star rating, but have you noticed how comments on products with a 1 star rating seem to disappear !!!Would I buy again, definitely not, in fact if you lived next door, I'd give it you...

The product I've received is probably the newer model. Newer model doesn't mean that it is always better in every aspect. I wanted to have what was shown on the photo. Probably nothing is wrong with the product but it is misleading the customers. The seller should update the photo to match what they are selling.

Super bright keeps my whole campsite lit and being water proof and durable makes it easy to leave out during rain/snow/wind. It’s a not the largest of the UST brand though so if you want something less handheld go bigger.
