There are a good number of books in this series to enjoy. I haven't read all of them yet, but plan to. I love the simple, lyrical, fun language on each spread and the illustrations that complement the words. The author makes the writing look like it was super easy to construct in that each word works and does a perfect job moving the story forward in an unforced way. I like the story, language and art so much I wish I produced this fine book. Highly recommend!

I had the opportunity to read this book in advance and, like Julie's other books in the LITTLE series, it is a bite-size moment of wonder. The text is simple and easy to read, perfect for rocking-chair storytime. The illustrations are vibrant and - in this book especially - ADORABLE. Despite being so sparse in text, Julie somehow manages to convey so much personality in each of her "littles" that you cannot help but fall in love with them as you watch them take their first steps into the big world.
