The box was crushed and when I opened the package the boxes arrived crushed as well.

These boxes are VERY sturdy and very nicely made. Black is not really my thing, personally, with gift giving, as I like bright colors or simply muted things that I can snazz up. But I have a friend who runs a candle and soap company and her boxes are black – with shoots of flowers – and she has won awards for her packaging. They do look elegant, though. The bow is attached for good but you could easily remove the little black and gold tags if you wanted – there is a typo – so you might want to. To me, the writing is so elegant, it is a bit hard to read but this is what it says: “Edery (should be eVery but most probably won’t notice) day you are happy, health and happiness accompany you.”Personally, I am going to use these as keepsake boxes – you know for photos and mementos and the like. They are sturdy and I can easily keep them on a shelf or in a closet. You cold use them to store art supplies, love letters, tiny collectibles – whatever.
